Meet Veronica Ruffo

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Veronica Ruffo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Veronica below.

Veronica, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?

For me, avoiding burnout is challenging and not always my primary goal when I’m working, especially when I am deeply committed to a project or goal. I believe that putting your full energy—mentally, physically, and emotionally—makes burnout more likely. However, I don’t see experiencing burnout as a major problem; rather, I focus on identifying its early signs, typically felt first in the body.

To manage my energy and prevent burnout from taking over, I practice the following:

Setting a specific time to stop working, which for me is 3 p.m.
Taking weekends seriously and fully disconnecting.
Practicing meditation regularly.
Taking naps when needed, which is crucial for recharging.
These practices help me manage my time effectively and ensure I stay balanced, even when working intensely.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am the founder and CEO of an EdTech Company that focuses on implementing and distributing AI-driven technology in the educational sector of Mexico. Most of our efforts go to the public sector which is the most vulnerable. We believe in the power of education to transform the wealth of our country.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities, skills or areas of knowledge that have been more impactful in my journey are:
– Having a Mentor – This individual might change over the course of your journey but having someone that takes the time to not only show you but also guide you are significantly impactful.
– Positivity – being an extremely positive person, is one quality that I treasure the most about myself and it has been thanks to this type of energy and thinking that I keep going with a joy for life even when things are not going exactly the way I would have hoped for.
– Flexibility – Like water, I have learned to dance with adversity and even when things are going well and fast. Adaptability is key.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Without a doubt my education. Being raised in Mexico and have access to a good education is without a doubt the most impactful thing my parents did for me.
