Meet Vesna Rysdale

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vesna Rysdale. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vesna below.

Hi Vesna, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem by reconnecting with my intuition. This taught me to trust myself and know I was worthy of an extraordinary life, just like everyone else.

As women, and through my own journey, I noticed that we spend most of our lives being told who to be, how to act, what to do and not do,  in order to be a ‘good girl’. This is a predominant theme with women I coach, as a women’s intuitive health and nutrition coach. We lose touch with our inner wisdom; we stop listening to our inner voice which robs us of self-confidence and self-esteem.

In fact, there’s nothing we need to do to attain self-esteem or worthiness – we’re born worthy.

When we lose touch with our intuition, we often lack self-confidence and self-esteem because, we look outward for answers, and seek validation and guidance from others. We forget to check-in with ourselves. Even in our later years, I see this often with my clients, as successful women who’ve raised a family, progressed in their careers, lack of self-confidence and self-esteem. Women I coach, even in their 40s and 50s, will say they don’t know what they want or who they are, what makes them happy which I’ve seen in my coaching practice as the culprit to weight gain and overwhelm. If we’re disconnected from ourselves, we become unhealthy, because we’re wilting inside like a flower lacking essential nourishment.

My life’s mission and purpose are to empower women to reclaim their health and wellbeing, and in this process regain their self-confidence and self-esteem by practicing intuitive nourishment that makes them feel alive. I aspire to be an example of a confident woman, so other women are inspired to become confident and reclaim their self-esteem.

I’ve had to reinvent myself many times, starting from scratch over and over. This started in my childhood, when I spent many months in the hospital as a young child, when I came to the USA as a war refugee during my teenage years, when I moved across the country as a young woman, when I left my corporate job and became an entrepreneur.

Looking back on it now, I can see with each reinvention, I gained greater confidence and greater self-esteem. And you can too. With each reinvention, we get to shed the old and embark on the possibility of an extraordinary life we’re here to live.

I’ve chosen to pursue life with curiosity and courage instead of fear. And this growth-mindset has served me well because it’s allowed me to go beyond my own limiting beliefs. Using my intuition as a guide and reconnecting with my authentic self, I feel deeply nourished and alive. This to me is self-confidence and self-esteem.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a CEO and founder of the Nourished Alive LLC, health and nutrition coaching business.  I serve women as their personal health and nutrition coach & I server businesses as their dedicated executive wellness coach.

I also offer group coaching programs:

I practice an integrative approach to health and wellbeing, which means we cover many topics beyond food. What sets me apart from others is that I help clients get to the root cause, not just the surface stuff. For example, does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? What nourishes you deeply, is it food, movement, social activities, solo time, something else? As we work together, we look at how all parts of life affect health and help you reconnect with your intuition that informs your nutrition, health, and lifestyle choices. Recognizing that we are bio-individually unique and your needs change, especially as we age, shapes what food, movement, relationships, and surroundings support your wellbeing.  Finding what works for you is the greatest investment one can make in their health and happiness, that keeps paying off for time to come.

On a personal level, I’m a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, community advocate and a nature lover. I’ve taken up surfing in the last few years and discovered that it nourishes me at a deeper level. This is exactly what I love to coach my clients to discover in their own healing journey, what it is that nourishes them at a deeper level and help provide accountability and support as they integrate more of it into their lives, which makes them healthier and happier.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities that were most important for me to develop are trust, creativity, and expansion.

Trust equals confidence. Once I reconnected to my intuition, I started to trust my inner voice to guide me, which helped me reclaim my health with confidence. From trusting my food choices, to big life decisions.  I coach my clients the Intuitive Nourishment and Hunger scale, that I’ve used in my own healing journey, which has helped me become a naturally fit and healthy woman I am today. This is why my approach is different, results are sustainable because this approach is intuitive which means it can work for you too. When you trust yourself, you’re confident that you’re can live a healthy and happy life.

Creativity is a feminine energy, and it represents being in the flow and letting it be easy. Just like intuition. Ability to create programs and services that help my clients reach their health goals, whether it’s weight loss, increased energy, improved sleep, self-confidence, self-esteem, or something else, allows me to be creative, which makes me feel alive. Health and happiness are intuitive to each of us. They can be created with ease and with guidance and accountability from a coach, who helps you stay committed and start creating the life you desire.

Expansion represents growth, exploration, evolution of oneself. I’ve always approached life with curiosity and continue to seek opportunities that help me grow, which is what I coach my clients to do as well. As I help them reclaim their health, they begin to gain confidence and self-esteem in a way that feel expansive; they apply for a new job, prioritize their relationships, show up for themselves and so much more. It’s true, expansion presents roadblocks, but in the process and with support for a coach you learn to conquer these challenges and grow to get real results and start living your healthy and happy life now.

The advice I’d give to folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these would be to trust their intuition because this builds self-confidence and self-esteem. Don’t wait to have confidence or self-esteem to get started; you will build these as you step into your life, reinvent and rebuild yourself, and continue to pursue opportunities with curiosity. Second guessing yourself, feeling unworthy, and having low self-esteem makes you show up small in your life. It makes you invisible to yourself and others.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is a woman in her 40s or older; or an executive leader, who has accomplished a great deal in life, including a family, successful career, managing relationships, household and achieving financial stability. However, in moments of quiet reflection, you long to reconnect you’re your intuition, get to know yourself at a much deeper level. You recognize that amidst a busy life, you lost touch with that inner voice, the guiding compass that is there to guide you towards a healthy and happy life you seek. Yet, you know that now is your season to nourish and feel alive.

My clients are living a healthy and happy life, filled with joy and abundance. This can be you too. Working with a coach, helps you reach your health goals; it becomes easier, and results become inevitable.
