Meet Vicki Ades

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Vicki Ades. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Vicki below.

Vicki, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

My optimism is rooted in a simple philosophy: “What’s the worst that can happen?” If the worst outcome is that I don’t get the job, secure the client, or receive a call back, then I have nothing to lose. If the end result doesn’t harm anyone and offers potential gains, I proceed confidently.

For example, if securing 10 out of 100 leads means making 90 calls, that’s what I’ll do. Assuming each client needs 6-12 follow-ups before booking, I’ll reach out accordingly. That translates to 1200 attempts to secure 10 jobs from 100 leads.

With this perspective, I stay focused on the task at hand and remain undeterred by obstacles.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Our journey sets us apart. We didn’t start by shooting products for online businesses; our roots are in capturing parties and portraits. As demand grew, we transitioned to product photography, making it our core focus. This shift allowed us to retain more customers, as businesses often refresh their product lines each season.

What further distinguishes us is our specialization within product photography. We cover a wide range of styles including model, lifestyle, flat lay, table photography, mannequin, editorial, and high-end fashion shoots. This comprehensive approach serves the diverse needs of ecommerce sellers.

We’re excited to announce that we now also offer video production for ecommerce listings and content creation for TikTok sellers, broadening our service offerings and staying at the forefront of industry trends.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three Qualities:

Relentless Learning: I always say that I graduated from YouTube University. My college degree didn’t fully prepare me for the business, marketing, or photography world. My advice: keep learning and diving deep into various aspects that surround your business.

Persistence: Without being annoying, I contact leads multiple times. I rarely ever throw in the towel. My motto is: they might not need my services now, but when they do, I want to be at the forefront of their mind.

Knowing When to Take Breaks: This is priceless because there have been many instances where I was stuck. Taking a break often brought new insights and solutions when I returned back to work. Recognizing when my creativity is maxed out has been crucial.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
