We were lucky to catch up with Vicky Keisler recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Vicky , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Imposter syndrome was something I carried with me for many years, often quietly and privately. Coming from Vietnam, with a difficult childhood and no parents to guide me, I sometimes felt as though I did not belong in the professional world here in America. I would look at others who seemed more educated, more connected, or more confident, and I would question if I was truly worthy of success. What helped me was remembering the lessons of my grandmother. She taught me that true worth is not measured by titles or appearances, but by how much heart you put into your work and how you treat others along the way. I realized that if I continued to serve my clients with honesty, skill, and compassion, then my work would speak louder than my self-doubt.
Over time, I stopped comparing myself to others and instead focused on becoming the best version of myself. I also reminded myself that humility is a strength. I don’t need to be the loudest or the most decorated to make a difference. Quiet dedication, kindness, and consistency can build trust more deeply than any recognition ever could. Even today, I still have moments of doubt. But instead of letting them defeat me, I see them as gentle reminders to stay grounded, to keep learning, and to honor the opportunity I have been given. For me, overcoming imposter syndrome was not about trying to prove I belonged but remembering that the flower does not chase the bee; it simply blooms, and the bee comes on its own”.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At Na’ava Skin Care Spa, my work is rooted in healing—both the skin and the spirit. For over 20 years, I’ve specialized in treating difficult cases such as cystic acne, hyperpigmentation, and sensitive skin conditions. What excites me most is watching someone transform—not just on the outside, but in the way they carry themselves once they feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. There is a deep beauty in helping a client look in the mirror and finally see themselves with love and peace.
What makes Na’ava unique is our philosophy. We do not rely on invasive treatments or quick fixes. Instead, we use a holistic, clinical approach that combines advanced techniques with our own natural, plant-based product line, Paniym Skin Care. “Paniym” means “face” in the Bible, and to me, it represents the blending of spiritual values with science. Every formula is made with intention—to be pure, safe, and transformative.
I am humbled that our clients drive from across California, and even fly in from places like New York, Florida, Vietnam, and Singapore, to experience our treatments. This loyalty tells me that people are yearning for authenticity, and I am honored to provide a sanctuary where they can find it.
As for what’s new, we are excited to be expanding the reach of Paniym Skin Care. Our vision is to bring these products to a global audience, offering a natural and effective alternative to harsh treatments. We are also proud to have been recently featured in Riviera Magazine, as well as Vanity Fair, Wellness Magazine, Voyage LA, and TV appearances on CBS and NBC, which have given us a beautiful platform to share our story.
At its heart, Na’ava is not just about skincare. It is about dignity, compassion, and transformation. My hope is that every client leaves us not only with healthier skin but with a brighter sense of who they are.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I believe the three qualities that carried me the furthest in my journey were resilience, empathy, and continuous learning.
Resilience came from my childhood in Vietnam, where I faced loss and hardship at a young age. Those experiences taught me that no matter how difficult the circumstances, you must keep moving forward with quiet strength. In business, there were many moments when it felt easier to give up, but resilience helped me see challenges as temporary and growth as possible.
Empathy has been the heart of my work. Skincare is not just about treating the surface—it is about understanding the person behind the skin. Many clients come to me in pain, not only physically but emotionally. By listening deeply and caring sincerely, I can help them heal in a way that goes beyond the treatment room.
Continuous learning is what allowed me to grow from one small room into the business I have today. The beauty and wellness industry is always evolving, and it’s important to stay curious, humble, and open to new knowledge. I never believed I knew everything—instead, I kept learning, improving, and refining my craft.
For those just beginning their journey, my advice is this: nurture your resilience by seeing setbacks as stepping stones, practice empathy not just with others but also with yourself, and never stop learning. Even the smallest step forward, taken with consistency and care, will carry you further than you can imagine.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is not defined by age, skin type, or background—it is someone who is ready to commit to their own healing and transformation. Often, clients come to me after they have tried everything else, feeling discouraged or even hopeless. What makes them ideal is not that their skin is perfect or their knowledge is vast, but that they are open, patient, and willing to trust the process.
At Na’ava Skin Care Spa, we specialize in complex cases such as cystic acne, hyperpigmentation, and sensitive skin conditions. These issues take time, consistency, and care to treat properly. An ideal client understands that true results are not found in quick fixes, but in nurturing the skin with compassion and commitment.
Most importantly, my ideal client is someone who values authenticity. They believe, as I do, that beauty is not about masking flaws, but about restoring balance, health, and confidence. When we share this philosophy, the journey together becomes not only effective but deeply meaningful.
