We recently connected with Vicky Nguyen and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Vicky with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I draw my work ethic from my incredible immigrant parents, especially my mom, who worked tirelessly to provide my sister and me with everything we needed. While they didn’t spoil us with material things like toys or gifts, they taught us the true value of hard work and dedication. My dad was always hustling in the real estate business, providing extra services like helping find a gardener or babysitter, and he even bought used items to sell them for a profit. My mom worked at an insurance company for over 30 years, always making sure we had home-cooked meals and taking us to our afterschool programs.
While my parents weren’t always the most expressive with words of affection, their actions spoke volumes. They gave us everything we needed physically and emotionally without needing to say it. On a spiritual level, I believe my entrepreneurial spirit comes from the strong, resilient women in my family. Both of my grandmothers owned their own businesses, and their stories continue to inspire me. One grandma ran a jewelry store while raising 15 children, and even after losing her business due to the Vietnam War, she migrated to the U.S. and started again. My other grandma, after losing her husband at a young age, raised 8 kids on her own. She had to be resourceful, and despite societal challenges, she eventually started her own business and became incredibly successful.
I am proud to carry forward the drive, courage, and work ethic that these remarkable women in my family instilled in me. Their strength and determination have shaped who I am today, and they continue to inspire me to push forward no matter the obstacles.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the proud owner and founder of Yummmm!Bar and Intentional + Space. At Yummmm!Bar, we create delicious, cold-pressed snack bars made with just six whole ingredients and three satisfying flavors to keep you energized and feeling great. With Intentional + Space, I help clients organize their spaces with purpose, creating harmony both inside and out, so they can live with more ease and lightness.
I’m also a passionate yoga instructor, which is something I truly love sharing with others. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the world around me, whether that’s through reading physical books, practicing tea ceremonies, roller skating, surfing, or simply hanging out at coffee shops. I find joy in cooking for others when I can, nurturing my garden and plants, and exploring farmers’ markets to discover unique foods.
Mindfulness and meditation are central to my life, and I believe in setting clear intentions, being surrounded by positive, like-minded people, and staying away from energy drainers. I’m an explorer at heart, always excited to get lost in new places and discover hidden gems. Life is a beautiful journey, and I’m grateful to be on this path, living with intention and joy every step of the way.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Embracing authenticity, staying true to yourself, and cultivating an inviting energy has been incredibly powerful in my journey. It creates a positive atmosphere and sets the tone for any space I enter. Consistency in everything I do, even when results aren’t immediate, has taught me the value of persistence. I’ve learned not to compare myself to others, as everyone is on their own unique path. I’ve also discovered the importance of being my own advocate—believing in what I do helps others believe in it too. It’s empowering to define yourself, rather than letting others define you.
For those who are just starting out, remember that it may feel lonely at first when you choose a different path than the majority. But as you continue to believe in yourself, you will find your tribe—people who share your values and vision. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who uplift and support you. It’s okay to let go of relationships that no longer serve your growth and well-being.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
At times, I find myself getting in the way of my own success, and certain things can trigger me. I’m focused on building the strength to not let fear and worry hold me back, as they can cloud my decision-making. I’m also working on identifying my triggers, so I can respond with more positive, high-vibration reactions. This is a key area of growth for me.
