Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Victoria Armstead. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Victoria, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from knowing that everything that I have encountered and will encounter serves a PURPOSE. The circumstances that I face aren’t just happening to me, but they are happening FOR ME and THROUGH ME —— for me to understand that I’m an instrument, a vessel being used to serve a greater purpose.
I truly believe, in my heart, that ALL things work together. There is a lesson or a blessing connected to every season and circumstance in life. This mindset is a CHOICE! I choose to believe. I choose to have hope. I choose to trust that NOTHING is wasted.
If it isn’t evident already, my optimism is also founded on my FAITH. Faith is not just seeing things as they are, but also seeing them for what they can be. My faith has taken me places that my feet could never.
I encourage anyone reading this to focus on elevating their perspective and taking on each day with grateful heart. It’s not what you go through, but how you go through it!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My professional life is exciting and fulfilling! I have my hands full with being involved in, both, the creative and corporate worlds. While, I consider myself to be effective in both of these areas, my passion is definitely being creative!
I’ve been a graphic designer for about 8 years now. Last year, was my “breakout” year though. I had one particular project that MILLIONS of people got to see and things took off from there. Since then, I have been working day and night.
I always laugh at how this happened. If I’m being honest, I was heavily considering laying down my passion and then BOOM…everything changed. I’m so grateful because it showed me that this thing was really bigger than me! Being able to help others build brands and visions has been rewarding in so many ways.
I think the next step, with this, is to start sharing my knowledge with others. I’ve been asked so many times and I plan to deliver soon. No dates yet, but it’s cooking!
I am also the founder of a women’s outreach group called “The Good Thing Movement” that was established in 2014. Our goal and purpose is let women know that their worth and value isn’t attached to anyone but the one that created them. We teach that women don’t have to wait until they’re claimed by someone to see that they ARE purposed and treasured.
Whatever I give my time to, has a special place in my heart. Some days I feel like I’m being stretched, but I just lean into the power within! I’m so grateful to be able to pursue passion and purpose!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say:
1. Having a system
2. Having integrity
3. Having an open mind
In business and life, it’s important to have a code of conduct, I believe. This becomes even more important when you enter the business world. When you build a system and operate with integrity, it keeps things straightforward, organized, and stress free. As a result, you’re able to open your mind and function better creatively. When you establish this precedent, people know who you are and what you stand for.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who brings their ideas, but also gives me creative control! Creatives thrive the most when they are not stifled. Most of us have spent numerous hours and dollars to perfect our craft. We take so much pride in our art and it’s amazing to have a client to appreciates what we do! As a creative, I truly work hard to deliver what my clients need! I appreciate when they can clearly communicate what they need and then allow me to do my thing!
