Meet Victoria Johnson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Victoria Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience was drive was so powerful. I had been giving a calling by God to become a physician. That is what I believed and I was not going to let anything get in my way. I could see no way, but God had a way. I kept pushing the doors open one class at a time. When graduation was near, I had to take 26 hours in one semester to be able to graduate on time and attend medical school. The fear that I faced was formidable but I had read in a self help book that fear is fake. All you have to do is walk thru the fear and accomplish your goal. I would chant to myself that fear is fake and a lie and keep studying and moving forward. It was difficult and scary but I had to keep going. My husband wanted me to fail and did everything in his power to sabotage me. I just kept my head up and prayed. I listened to spiritual lectures and music constantly while driving etc. I wanted to keep my resolve and not fall prey to his traps.

It is difficult to talk about. It was hard to write the book because it made me so sick to my stomach. My daughter has not been able to read it. That is why the book is so short. There is a lot more that I could have written about but it was too painful. I’m not in that place anymore and don’t want to go back.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a cosmetic surgeon for the last 21 years. My practice began with two lasers and Botox injections and has now grown to include liposuction. laser face and neck lifts. thread lifts, cellulite treatments, hair restoration, hormone replacement, weight loss and hair reduction to name just a few services that my clinic provides.

I also do a lot of counseling. My patients are unhappy with something about themselves or their life situation. I love trying to figure out how best i can help them accomplish their goals.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think that my top three qualities that have helped me become successful in life and business are: the ability to empathize with my patients and others
My ability to show love and kindness to all
I have perfected my skills that i use in my practice to an art. I love what i do and try to find new ways of becoming even more effective.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The books that inspired me and kept me on track was and is the bible and prayer. I was solely focused on attaining my goal that there was no room for doubt. Later, after I began practice I found Dr David Hawkins book “Letting Go” It really helped me to understand my patients and staff better. It helped me with my understanding of life and helped with my relationships. I have given that book to hundreds of patients and many have come back to see me and thanked me for the book. That the book had really helped them.
