Meet Victoria Skyy

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Victoria Skyy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Victoria, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from living through things that were meant to break me.

I was born into chaos with parents battling addiction, separated from most of my seven siblings, and placed in foster care at three years old. I moved through 21 different homes, survived homelessness, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. I never had stability so I had to become my own anchor.

Every time life knocked me down I learned how to get back up stronger. I had to adapt, protect myself, and keep moving when there was no safety net. That is why I do not fold under pressure because I have been through worse and came out standing.

My resilience is not just about surviving. It is about turning pain into power and power into purpose. It is my superpower.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am Victoria Skyy, a serial entrepreneur, brand architect, and owner of VV Spirits, which includes Kryp2nite Vodka, AfterDark Rum, and Boss Bourbon Whiskey. I am proud to be the first Black woman in Tampa to launch a spirits brand made in the city, building it from the ground up with vision and determination.

VV Spirits is about more than what is in the bottle. It represents culture, sophistication, and lasting impressions. I have worked to create a brand that feels luxurious yet approachable, proving you do not need to be a celebrity or millionaire to bring a high-end vision to life.

This year, I am preparing for The VV Experience on October 25, 2025, a high-end tasting gala with curated spirit tastings, live performances, celebrity guests, and an atmosphere of elegance and excitement. VV Spirits continues to grow with new markets, retail placements, and partnerships, and this is only the beginning. My goal is to inspire others to chase their dreams with courage and boldness.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that shaped my journey are resilience, vision, and relationship building.

Resilience kept me going through challenges. Vision gave me a clear direction and kept me focused. Relationship building opened doors that money could not.

For anyone starting out, strengthen your mindset, get clear on your “why,” and invest in genuine connections. These will carry you further than anything else.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne taught me that thoughts shape reality. What you focus on expands, so I choose to focus on gratitude, solutions, and my vision. Speaking as if what I want is already mine has helped me manifest opportunities, attract the right people, and move with confidence.
