We recently connected with Victoria Taylor and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic stems from the fact that no one is going to hand you success. Growing up as a child of an immigrant family, I learned the value of hard work from my mother, who dedicated her life to giving us the best opportunities. This instilled a deep sense of determination in me.
I like nice things and the freedom to do what I want, but both come at a cost. To me, the concept is simple: if I want something, I have to work for it. I want a lot out of life, so I’m going to work until I get all of it. The work I do is so rewarding too, it’s hard not to want to do more sometimes. Launching a campaign and watching the sales roll in — it’s almost like a high. I’m addicted to getting great results for my clients and love seeing their faces light up when we exceed our goals. Knowing my work helps them pay their bills and focus on more fulfilling parts of their lives is amazing. We all have our wants in this world, but using my expertise to help others gain a little more freedom is the best feeling.
At Taylored, I see every business I work with as an extension of my own. Their success is my success, and I am deeply dedicated to each client’s journey. If they’re not doing well, neither am I, and I refuse to fail. This commitment ensures every project receives the utmost dedication because their business is my business. I am relentless in my pursuit of excellence and genuinely invested in the growth and success of every person I work with.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My journey into marketing started early; I graduated with my AA in Psychology at 18 and later earned a Bachelor’s in Marketing and Communications from ASU at 20. This academic background, combined with my practical experience working with Fortune 500 companies, startups, and small businesses, has shaped my holistic approach to marketing, integrating psychology and data to craft strategies that actually work.
Taylored was born out of a desire to provide customized marketing solutions. Our name reflects both my last name and our commitment to tailoring our services to each client’s unique needs. Whether it’s organic social media management, paid advertising, website development, SEO, or consulting, we offer both ‘done with you’ and ‘done for you’ models to ensure that every client gets exactly what they need.
What excites me most about our work is the intersection of creativity and psychology. We believe in creating content that is not only engaging but also drives measurable results because it’s backed by data. Each brand has its own story, and we help them tell it in a way that captivates their audience and drives growth.
At Taylored, our goal is to empower our clients to achieve the freedom and growth they desire. Marketing is hard work, and it’s our mission to make it a little easier and a lot more effective. We’re here to help business owners understand that success isn’t about a few viral posts; it’s about a strategic, sustained effort that builds long-term relationships and drives real results.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three key qualities stand out as most impactful: determination, honesty, and passion.
Determination: Building a business and achieving success in marketing is not always a smooth journey. There are countless challenges and obstacles along the way. My determination to never quit, even when things get tough, has been crucial. For those starting their journey, I advise cultivating a mindset of perseverance. Understand that setbacks are part of the process, and every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Honesty: Being honest with yourself and others is fundamental. You have to accept responsibility for your actions, understand what is within your control, and recognize when you need help. My advice for newcomers is to practice self-reflection and be transparent in your dealings. Don’t be afraid to acknowledge your weaknesses and seek support when needed.
Passion: Passion for what you do is essential. If you’re not excited about your work, it’s going to be challenging to maintain the energy and enthusiasm needed for long-term success.
Ultimately, success is a blend of hard work, integrity, and a love for what you do. Stay determined, be honest with yourself and others, and ensure your work aligns with your passions.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Without a doubt, my mom has been the most influential person in my life. As an immigrant from Poland, she worked tirelessly to provide for our family and ensure we had every opportunity to succeed. Her work ethic, resilience, and determination have been a constant source of inspiration for me. Watching her overcome countless challenges instilled in me the values of hard work and perseverance. I just want to be able to give back to my mom the way she so willingly gave to me.
