We recently connected with Victoria Zaborowski and have shared our conversation below.
Victoria, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic was instilled into me at a very young age, my parents were very strict on my older brother and I always being in some kind of sport or having a job, this taught us so much responsibility and discipline. I’ve watched my father hold down 2,3 even 4 jobs at a time, while going back to school and supporting a family, not to say my mother didn’t work just as hard raising two children and working full time.
I was taught that there’s no point in doing anything if you don’t do it all of the way and I’ve used that as my life motto in many ways but especially into my jobs over the years and even to this day as I run my own business.
You have to give 100% in order to accomplish your goals.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m Victoria Zaborowski, 26, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida!
Originally in life I felt my path was to be a school teacher, I loved working with children and watching them grow. I even started taking college classes to become a teacher, then I got a new job and a thrift store which just so happened to be next to the Aveda Institute. I had never thought of being an esthetician before but something about it was calling to me, so I decided to look into Aveda. Quickly i realized there was so much more to the beauty industry than i originally expected. I became so intrigued on doing facials and working in a spa so i decided to go to beauty school!
While in school i wanted to get a job in the field to fully invest into the industry, i had started working as a receptionist at the European Wax Center and was fully prepared to find a Facial spa to work at once graduating.
A Week after i graduated Covid hit, the world shut down, starting my career was on hold. It was obviously not what anyone had prepared for. After months of being at home waiting, it’s finally time to reopen the wax center and this time I’m the waxer!
I was quickly thrown into the waxing world and while it wasn’t my original plan I ended up falling in love with the fast paced work environment and making women feel beautiful In a different way than I ever planned.
Before/ During covid I had taken an Eyelash Extension class and practiced a few times on friends and family but never did much with it for the first year. Eventually I got a job at an eyelash studio and I was working 7 days a week for over a year doing waxing in the morning and lashes in the evening.
Lashes was not something that came easy for me, I hated doing it at first and I always felt so defeated but I kept at it, and eventually after a year of nonstop working on my craft I finally started to become good at lashes.
I ended up leaving waxing and going Full time at the Eyelash studio, There I spent 3 years perfecting my craft and expanding my knowledge.
A Good friend and i decided to take a leap of faith and go to California for the biggest Eyelash Extension Convention, Lash Con!
While there I was able to gain a newfound confidence in myself and my career and decided it was time to leave my studio and open my own business.
While that comes with many challenges of its own, a week after returning from this trip I found out I was pregnant. I put the ideas of running my own business out the window as I focused on my new life journey. Over the next few months of my pregnancy I was able to watch two of my great friends in the lash industry leave their toxic workplaces and go solo!To watch my friends jump into and thrive in their own environment was the extra motivation I needed to do it too! So at 8 months pregnant I left my salon home and opened my own suite!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
3 qualities that were most impactful to my journey have been time management, adaptability and creativity.
You have to be able to manage your time effectively and change to your environment! You have to be able to go with the flow!

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
The last 12 months have been especially big for me as it was my first full calendar year running my business!
At first I was just getting into the flow of running a business and being a new mom, but after leaving my studio, going on maternity leave and then trying to come back and start a business was not easy. It was a different environment than my clients and I were use to. I couldn’t rely on anyone else to help me create the experience I wanted to share.
I’m proud to say my biggest area of growth would be the confidence I’ve found in my skills, to be able to provide an uplifting service leaving my clients feeling relaxed, confident and cared for.
