Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vijay Ravikumar. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Vijay , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Great Question!
So, here’s a twist on the age-old quest for purpose: I used to feel like I was on this grand mission to discover my life’s calling. But you know what? That pressure was suffocating. Then it hit me – what if there’s no grand purpose to find? What if life is just about rolling with the punches?
Once I embraced this liberating idea, everything changed. I kicked my job as an electrical engineer to the curb and bid farewell to anyone who wasn’t adding value to my life. From there, I adopted a simple mantra: “Do I love it or not?” No plans, no fretting about the future – just following my heart.
Sure, it was a leap of faith. But with each risk I took, my instincts grew stronger. Eventually, I realized that my purpose is simply to live without a purpose. It sounds paradoxical, I know, but it’s brought me more fulfilment than any grand plan ever could.
Nowadays, I still march to the beat of my own purposeless drum. Others might see me as having it all figured out, but for me, it’s all about embracing the uncertainty and doing what I love.
So basically it comes down to – living life without a roadmap, and loving every twist and turn along the way. Who knew purposelessness could be so darn fulfilling?
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Firstly, there’s my career as a Psy Trance music producer, known as IJJIGA. Over the past 8 years, I’ve performed at various parties and festivals, with aspirations to reach the highest echelons of the industry. While I’m not yet at the topmost level, I’m committed to continuing until I’m among the best, rocking the biggest stages worldwide.
I’ve been offered the opportunity to release my music with one of the top labels in Psytrance. This exciting development is still under wraps, awaiting confirmation of dates and details before I can share the news.
In the second aspect of my life, I’m known as The Float Guru. I’ve pioneered a transformative approach using floatation tanks, facilitating self-realization and unlocking creativity in my clients. Through leveraging the unique environment of these tanks and my specialized techniques, I’ve condensed years of inner work into mere weeks, resulting in profound and lasting transformations.
Recently, I’ve expanded my repertoire by incorporating ancient mantras and sounds from the Vedic era into my transformational methods. Recognizing that not everyone has access to float tanks, I view these mantras as an excellent alternative—a sustainable and deeply personal means to achieve self-realization and tap into infinite creativity. This integration excites me greatly, as it reconnects me to my ancestral roots of Vedic priest and Brahmin lineage.
Moving forward, I envision the use of ancient mantras and yantras as the cornerstone of my approach. However, I remain committed to incorporating float tanks into my program for those fortunate enough to access a float center.
In essence, my journey as the float guru continues to evolve, guided by a profound sense of purpose and a deep connection to ancient wisdom.
The third facet of my life revolves around being a house husband to my remarkable partner and a stepfather to my 8-year-old son. This role provides me with deep fulfilment and keeps me actively engaged on a profound level.
2024 marks the year to launch into the next level across all three areas of my life. It’s an incredibly exciting time ahead!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The most profound realization on my journey has been the understanding that we create our reality based on our vibe or level of consciousness. This truth is omnipresent, though sometimes it’s easier to discern than others. Our observations of reality are deeply intertwined with our vibrational state. For instance, when we’re filled with anger, everything appears to provoke us, whereas in a state of love, the world seems beautifully harmonious.
Another crucial insight is the insignificance of our decisions. All decisions hold equal weight; it’s only in hindsight that we label them as good or bad. Ultimately, the perception of our decisions is dictated by our present emotional state. If we’re feeling positive, any decision, such as relocating to a new city, feels right. Conversely, if we’re experiencing negativity, the same decision may appear unfavorable. Therefore, the outcome of any decision hinges on our current emotional state.
Lastly, a significant breakthrough has been my liberation from the opinions of others. Embracing this notion grants us the freedom to authentically be ourselves. When deeply internalized, this understanding empowers us to act from the heart rather than succumb to the constraints of societal expectations or our own internal dialogue.
These realizations have profoundly shaped my journey, enabling me to navigate life with greater clarity, authenticity, and joy.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a bit of a paradox—they’ve got this unstoppable drive paired with a laid-back, go-with-the-flow vibe.its like the inherent paradox of reality itself. 2 sides of the same coin.
I love working with clients who bring these qualities to the table but might need a little help finding the balance. You know, the kind who are chasing their dreams like there’s no tomorrow but could use some guidance on staying zen on the inside.
And if their big dream happens to be dominating their field, well, that’s the cherry on top. Working with go-getters like that brings out the best in me, and together, we make magic happen.
Basically, my ideal client is someone who’s ambitious yet chill, driven yet grounded—a perfect mix for a journey of growth and success.
