We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Viktoria Levay a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Viktoria, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
First of all, thank you so much for inviting me to Voyage’s Bold Journey Series! It certainly has been a road less traveled, and I aim to continue this unconventional, more fearless and authentic journey through my work and life.
How I got here is another story, but certainly stemmed from the loss of my mom at a very young age, unmanaged stress and emotional triggers that created more health issues and damage than I imagined.
Once I started healing through food as medicine, processed my emotional traumas and addressed the root causes of my triggers, I realized that by turning my experiences and the lessons learnt along the way into my gifts, I embraced my purpose.
I wanted to give forward to help others to be their best selves, to create healthier and more resilient lives and to find their own purpose through my holistic coaching approach.
It has taken courage to dare to own my authentic voice, especially in a foreign country, but purpose is what makes life intentional and exciting, and I’m grateful to be able to reach thousands of lives and help people thrive.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My brand encompasses my passions and purpose to be a leading voice to those who seek to improve their lives, overall health and wellbeing, as well as to provide quality skincare to those who appreciate all natural, organic products.
Through LÉVAY, my coaching approach uniquely combines scientifically proven stress management techniques with functional health and life coaching practices to develop a healthier, more mindful lifestyle, to achieve better performance and to prevent burnout. Key topics are stress management, emotional awareness, mental health, purpose, communication and the foundations to optimal health & healthy habits.
Under NOURISH WITH VIKTORIA I created an all natural, anti-aging skincare line using pure, organic oils for a healthy, glowing, youthful skin. The products are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals and have been called “magical” by many returning customers. They are handmade with care and love.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Hard to pick 3, so if you don’t mind here is my list:
Understand your talents & strengths, and build on them.
Set clear goals so you know where you are going.
Listen to your intuition but seek help from mentors.
Build a quality network. You never know where your next opportunity will come from.
Face your fears because they won’t go away and hold onto your dreams, as if your life depended on it – because it does.
Stay tenacious and believe in yourself.
Isn’t it what purpose is about?
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Oh now we are talking! Let me coach you a little, so here are 5 suggestions:
1) Find a breathing technique that’s comfortable to you. My favorite is called Inner Ease breathing, where you focus on your heartbeat and emotions, embracing the feeling (not the thinking!) of ease, calm and being safe.
2) Clean up! You cannot think clear in clutter. If nothing else, pick up 10 things and put them away. Takes 2 minutes.
3) Get moving and go for a walk. Clear your head and lungs. Fresh air, being close to nature is healing and soothing.
4) Hydrate smart. Drink something refreshing, like electrolyte water, green or peppermint tea or a fresh green juice.
5) Take a break. 20 minutes meditation or nap works like magic and is well worth the time. You get back to your day refreshed and with much more emotional and mental clarity. “Power rest” is great any time of the day, especially when you combine it with a breathing technique and frequency music.
