Meet Viola Choice

We were lucky to catch up with Viola Choice recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Viola , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?

As a Black woman and the first in my family to attend college, I’ve always understood that my path would be unique and come with its challenges. I didn’t have many role models growing up who were doing what I aspired to do, especially in finance or at the executive level in Entertainment, where very few people look like me. Instead of letting that discourage me, I’ve used it as motivation. It pushes me to break barriers, to strive to be one of the first, and to excel so that I can create space for others after me.

What’s kept me effective in those rooms is preparation, confidence in my skills, and knowing that I belong there. But more importantly, I think about the impact—showing young girls who look like me that if they invest in themselves, sharpen their skills, and polish their presence, they can achieve anything they aspire to. For me, being the only one in the room isn’t a setback—it’s an opportunity to set an example and live up to my full potential.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

From a young age, I’ve always expressed myself through creativity—whether it was fashion, art, or simply having the confidence to be myself. I’ve also always had a passion for people and community, so stepping into my role at Trapxart felt like a natural calling. Honestly, I see it as divine alignment.

Today, I’m proud to serve as the President of Trapxart, an international creative community that bridges the gap between culture and art through elevated experiences. We host events around the world—everything from fashion shows and art galleries to dance and musical performances. What excites me most is how we create a platform for creatives of all backgrounds to showcase their work, connect with one another, and grow. It’s about more than just events—it’s about building a movement that celebrates culture, community, and creativity. We are a non profit that genuinely loves are community and wants to see progress in the world through Art.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities on my journey have been confidence, authenticity, and hard work.

First, confidence and believing in myself have carried me through doors that weren’t always open. When you trust your own value, it allows others to see it too. Second, being authentic—showing up as myself—has been powerful. People connect with realness, and staying true to who I am has built trust and genuine relationships. Finally, hard work and sticking to my morals have grounded me. No matter how ambitious I am, I never want to compromise my values, and I’ve learned that consistent effort combined with integrity always pays off.

For those early in their journey, my advice is: invest in building your self-belief, don’t be afraid to embrace your uniqueness, and remember that hard work plus strong values will open opportunities you never imagined.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was give me unconditional love and support. No matter what mistakes I made or how many times I stumbled, they always reminded me that I was loved. That kind of foundation made me want to be a good person, to live by the morals and values they taught me, and to carry myself with integrity.

Even now as an adult, their support hasn’t stopped. They’ve been there for me as I raise my three-year-old daughter, stepping in to help while I work and chase my goals. Their example of love, sacrifice, and consistency has shaped who I am today, and I’m deeply grateful for that
