Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Virginia Lopez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Virginia, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I will have to give credit for my strength and resilience to my extremely strong-willed mother. My mom has always been inspiring to me. Having raised nine children, she eludes love, strength, and positivity. She taught me to never give up, to move forward. And to focus on the positive moments of any challenge I face, to learn from any setbacks I encounter. I strive to be more like my mom!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Reusable Finds is where we Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse and Resell!
Nested in the industrial area of South Bay Park, you will find us transforming and upcycling. We are committed to diverting usable materials from our landfills.
Upcycling encourages a shift towards sustainable living by promoting conscious consumption.
It took a while to get to this point in time. I had a career in the hotel hospitality industry for a couple of decades prior to being able to go full force with my own business. In 2008 I started upcycling in my backyard. In 2012 I opened a 500 sq ft storefront that was manageable and was welcomed by the neighborhood. It had been pretty much a smooth road until the demand for more inventory. We needed to find a larger storefront. I would say finding a larger place was challenging. In 2014 we ended up finding the ideal location nearby, a 5000 SQF warehouse in an industrial area in South Bay Park that took care of all our needs. We even have a garden, and workspace, something we didn’t have at the last location. The community has supported us all these years and that feels great!
All of our finds are considered as possibilities for a new life in some shape or form. The store has a myriad of home decor, to include ceramics, pottery, furniture, jewelry, art, glassware, kitchenware and garden art. You can even find vintage clothing!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities that played a major role in my dream path are Determination, Resilience the Appreciation.I’m Determined in doing my own individual contributions to creating a greener planet for future generations and have the Resilience to overcome challenges in doing so. And sharing on how cultivating an Appreciation for the environment will enhance one’s understanding of the value and fosters a responsibility towards its preservation

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I welcome anyone with a shared vision, and common goals to help in our efforts in providing a greener environment. Our mission is to contribute to a sustainable future and inspire others to join the cause. Anyone interested can contact me via email, or phone.
