Meet Vitalii Drozd

We were lucky to catch up with Vitalii Drozd recently and have shared our conversation below.

Vitalii, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

From creating something new.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

The history of creation and training began about 15 years ago in Ukraine. It was during that period that I realized what I liked. And step by step I learned how to do a fire show, walk on stilts, juggle, pantomime and so on. I like to show people something, to give them emotions, apparently this also energizes me. Over the past 3 years we have launched 3 new shows, a soft drink show for children, a circus show and a bubble show, this year we are planning a Steamland show – a mixture of a science show with Tesla coil experiments.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

This is a difficult question, I think everyone should find their own option if they really like it, and not just to make money.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

It so happened that I didn’t really have any mentors. I received inspiration from various clownery and pantomime festivals, street festivals, and from friends who did their own projects. I strived to be on an equal footing with them and thus found my way and understood how I could do this for myself and others.
