We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vitality Rapper, Model, Poet Singer. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Vitality , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I honestly have to credit God for that. Under certain circumstances I found myself becoming the definition of “resilience” seeing my spirit is unbreakable. In my past I went against so much opposition. Finding myself around people who wanted to see me break For their personal pleasure, or just bc they felt inferior for some reason. Unfortunately as far as my destiny is concerned submitting to insecurity or Evil was never in my purpose. I’m here to show good people with genuine pure hearts that. We can still win in this world without hurting people, or manipulating circumstances to our personal benefit. I’m here as a example that being “Good” is enough.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have personally been taking my music seriously since I was 23. I’m currently working on my third studio album. Which I want to drop sometime next year. This album like my other albums, I want to make sense. It has to reach people on a personal level. I want to explore different sides of myself as well as my growth. I want to get to artistic part of music. I feel like music is about culture and preserving our stories. For the next to come. So I want to leave my listeners and supporters with substance. A body of work that will last forever. My first project “FireBreather” My second “Alpha” Act one and two. And I will be announcing my third studio album Jan 1st. I also have a podcast on Spotify. Titled the “Voice” where we bring awareness to mental health and cultural differences.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Growing up my parents kept me busy. They felt I was an easily distracted child so I was submersed with extra curricular activities. I took speech n debate, was in choir, track, band, gymnastics, & public safety. Taking speech n debate growing up was a major benefit when it comes to how I communicate or when I make music. Also learning when you are arguing logic vs emotion will teach you everything. Communication is so important especially when you work with people or when it comes to making music.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Patience,
My patience has developed incredibly. Dealing with triggers or things I can’t control. I’ve Learned to let go. And seek knowledge from the most high. I also don’t take anything personally. Everyone is going thru something. I can internalize and take evening personally or I can access the situation and see if there is anything I can learn from it.
