Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vivianne Nix. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Vivianne, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I believe that each of us can give back and be generous to others – just in various ways. It may be sharing knowledge, passing along wisdom, donating your time, lending someone an ear, being there for someone in a time of need, making an introduction, etc. I have been blessed by so many within my community throughout all phases of my life, where people have gone out of their way to support me, and for that, I am forever grateful. These interactions and experiences are what inspire me to be better do-better each and every day. Perspective is reality; some days, you may have to look a little harder to see “the good,” but I promise you it’s there.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Women4Women is a platform designed to empower women by fostering inspiration, skill development, and the cultivation of meaningful connections. Developing from many conversations with my best friend, we would ask, how would our lives be different if we knew then what we know now?
We host monthly events with two components: a 30-minute inspirational session led by a subject matter expert in their respective field, followed by a hands-on, fun learning experience. The goal is to bring little nuggets of information, resources, and connections to our attendees so we don’t find ourselves in another 20 years asking the same question.
Come join us on January 15th for Pop the Cork! Unleashing the Power of Habits.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Build your tribe, your network, your circle. Recognize that it will change, grow, and adapt with you over time, but investing in others is one of the best ways to invest in yourself.
“Perhaps the secret of living well is not in having all the answers but in pursuing unanswerable questions in good company.” -Rachel Naomi Remen.
2. Dedicate time to invest in yourself. Whether you want to grow personally, professionally, or, quite frankly, need a break from the day-to-day, dedicate the time to yourself. This is easier said than done since we have limited time in our day; for me, podcasts have been a great way for me to invest in myself. Whether it’s a 10-minute finance podcast or a 30-minute comedy skit, it’s an investment in myself.
3. Perspective is reality. We can change our perspective so we can change our reality.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I strongly believe in focusing on your strengths, but to develop them, you must know them first. I highly recommend everyone reading Gallup and Tom Rath’s book Strengthfinder 2.0! This is one of the most impactful books I have read, both personally and professionally.
