VyShawn , thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
At a young age i learned that some risk had to be taken, no doubt about it. Without risk you never know if your going to win or fail! Everything you do in life has a 50/50 percent chance of failing and succeeding. But, you literally will never know if you never try. Which plays a big role in my life today. It was day’s I invested my last into my ideas and goals, and without those days I would have never made it to where I am today. With all of that being said, SUCCESS IS ALWAYS A RISK…It’s just not a risk many people are fond of taking.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Before any businesses, hit songs, any record deals, I’m a man, a child of God, and a provider. My morals are to ohigh for me to be anything other than. At some point in time i wanted to be a hugse rapper/megastar…I mean, the flare is still there. But, i’ve learned to incoorporate my career into my businesses and everyday life. which makes everything literally 10x easier! I grew up in Paris, TX. A small town located in East Texas, where minds are small and not many dreams are being chased. I had to see the reality of the city. I chased local fame for years, got it…and didn’t quite know what was next. Until I came up with G.F.M Enterprises. I realized I had a plaform that not many people have where i’m from have! I own 6 different (thousand interaction) pages on different platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. These combined total to over 200,000 people watching what I post. So, whenever you realize you have this power or should I say “influence” you definetly want to use it in a positive way. There are too many people following trends and doing the exact opposite. So, stick out! Change the narative, and live life!
I currently own 3 businesses, G.F.M Enterprises, G.F.M Records, and V.C.M Business Solutions. G.F.M Enterpises is an absolute powerhouse! We have buitl up enough contacts and resources that we can almost literally GIVE anyone clients! Our main goal is to connect the world with small (and large) businesses easily! Offering services ranging from Email Blast, Sponorships, Website (or store) production and more! G.F.M Records is a record company/record label. Here we market and promote msic to get top results! This is where independent (and or signed) artist come to grow their fanbase, get marketing content, cover-arts, lyrc visuals, and more! V.C.M Business Solutions is where you go to help your business begin, and help it flourish. Offering services ranging from Book-Keeping, Business Formation, Notary, Audit Assistance, and more!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Speed, Selflessness, and taking it one day at a time. Let’s start with speed, speed helped me gain others trust, along with providing them with quality services. It is very hard to find people that produce quality in a timely manner, but thank God I happen to be the oposite! I can make anything happen with lightning speed. By time we’refinished with whatever service my clients are needing, they’re bragging about how fast we delivered! Now, on to Selflessness…A VERY important trait I had to learn to have if I wanted to win. Plenty of time’s people have wanted to use my services for a back-end fee or a “late Deposit” and I though hard about it, then did it. This goes back to risk. Are you ready to risk the things you provide for a chance to grow? I for sure was! So, I had absolutely no problem sharing resources for a small fee. Because, in business you have to understand that you (me) may bring in customers/clients that the next person can’t and vice versa! So never limit yourself, make thoe connections and open those doors for your business! Last, is taking it one day at a time…which should have been first! Because, this is the most unerated thing i’ve heard of! Everyone want to get rich quick, of course. But, they don’t understand that “getting rich quick” is nothing but taking it a day at a time. You have plenty to work on, you can always improve quality, and you can take time out to market! But, to win…taking it one day at a time is absolutely needed. A empire is built in years…I could wak outside this very moment and grab people to join a “club”. Which isn’t what i’m interested in… All of my businesses will be billion dollar coorporations when i’m done with them. That’s a promise I made to myself!
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
If you’re not overwhelmed then your not working. That’s how I personally feel, I had to tell myself that “not being overwhelmed was “lazy”. Everyone may not see it that way, but it literally is…I mean, if you’re working (doing the bare minimum) then you’re destined for destruction eventually. NO ONE can do the bare minimum and win in life, doesn’t matter the niche, doesn’t matter who your around. NO ONE CAN! So, with all of that being said, “being overwhelmed” is my strategy!
