Meet Wanda White

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Wanda White a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Wanda, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I overcame with the help of a therapist. I struggled with feelings of insecurity and not enough. I second-guessed everything I did and it got to the point that I stopped doing things out of fear of what others would think. I also had to understand and recognize what it was when it was happening. I realized that was a block keeping me in my shell. I was afraid to share because I felt others were better or more knowledgeable but I began to tell myself daily “I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength.” I would repeat that over and over and over until I had the strength to do the next thing. I also would remind myself of the truth of who God says that I am and my identity is found in him.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a Christian author, minister, speaker, and master-certified life and leadership coach. I help Christian women who are overwhelmed and stuck to find clarity and confidence so they can pursue their purpose and dreams.

I’ve written 1 devotional (Okay God, I See You!) and I’ve created one journal (Well, Hello Gorgeous) (both are on Amazon). My second devotional “Okay God, I Trust You!) will be released on April 9!!! It will be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I have been coaching and doing leadership training for 20-plus years.

I’ve recently launched “5 Reasons Why You Should Write a Book and How to Get Started” coaching sessions designed to get women who are interested in writing a book off the fence and take their dream from an idea to reality. The next session begins March 12, 2024.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Prayer, Resilience, and Organization.

Prayer – talk to God. Ask him the plan. Submit to his plan. Quickly forgive yourself because he does.

Resilience – don’t give up. It may not look like you want it to and it may not happen according to your timetable but hand in there. If you get knocked down, get back up. If one door closes, try another one.

Organization – keep your records and documents in order so you can find things easily. Get folders, notebooks, and binders, and keep one subject in each.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Brave Enough to Succeed by Valorie Burton. One of the most impactful nuggets of wisdom that I gained was to tell myself the truth. If I tried an idea and it failed, it didn’t mean I was a failure. If the relationship didn’t work, it didn’t mean I was not a good person. The book helped me to pull back the layers and identify some blocks in my vision. It helped me to discover who I am and inspired me to believe in myself and keep going.
