We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Wave Pilot. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Wave below.
Hi Wave, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
For me a routine is a vital part of my mental and physical health. I am an early riser and start my day at 4am. I get my body moving at the gym and set myself up for a productive day. I like to add in mindfulness through mediation and visualization of my objectives in the morning to focus my energy for the day. By doing this, I’m able to mitigate anxiety and navigate through external forces that I may not have control over.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am currently a 35 year old pursuing a music career while employed as a full time sales professional. Music creation has been part of my life since I was 13 and started making hip hop beats on a Yamaha keyboard.
A fear of failure and lack of an innate entrepreneurial spirit put and has kept me from being a full time musician. I moved out to Vegas in 2021 to find new inspiration and relationships to move towards my goals.
I am very proud of my musicianship and the growth I’ve fostered from an artistic and technical viewpoint over the years. Las Vegas has blessed me with peers aligned with my goals of full time artistry and collaborative projects that have allowed me to create what I believe my best songs to date.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Networking. Putting myself out there to meet people pursuing similar goals has helped identify for me areas I can improve in while also augmenting the current strengths I possess.
2. Personal Inventory. Sitting down with myself and identifying my wants, needs, assists and liabilities has helped give me direction for what I need to do to get to where I want to go.
3. Harnessing Discipline. Motivation is amazing when it’s there….but the problem is a lot of the time it’s not. As a creative often I found myself stagnant in the absence of motivation. Drawing on discipline to move forward and get things done is necessary when motivation is not there.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m definitely looking for singers, songwriters, other musicians to collaborate with. You can connect with me on instagram at @wavepilotmusic.
