We were lucky to catch up with Will Benoit recently and have shared our conversation below.
Will, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
My confidence and self-esteem can be credited to my dad and grandpa. Throughout my youth, they constantly encouraged me to pursue my passions and validated that I had what it took to be successful in whatever I put my mind to. As a kid, having two generations of men speak into my life in this way helped me see my potential.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I own a Construction company that is rapidly growing. I started this company over seven years ago to have the flexibility of working for myself. I saw huge potential in the construction industry for someone like myself who could consistently treat people with integrity and transparency. It wasn’t until my dad’s passing that I was ignited with a new goal. That new goal is to grow this business to a size that can help more and more customers, as well as provide stability for my employees. I trust that any customer, trade, or employee that is under our umbrella is protected and will be handled with care. Filling this gap and bringing lasting change in this tough industry is what I am most passionate about at the moment.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
-Develop the skill of identifying the hard things you are avoiding and do them each day as early in the day as possible. This will build your confidence in yourself, and turn your weaknesses into strengths over time.
-Learn. Seek out Wisdom and advice from the experts in your space. There are so many free resources out there to build your knowledge base. This is the best return on investment that you can make and one that will never be lost.
-Boundaries. Create a work/life balance framework that works for you. Align your goals with this framework. It will be sustainable this way!

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
