Meet Will Reusch

We were lucky to catch up with Will Reusch recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Will, thanks for sitting with us today to chat about topics that are relevant to so many. One of those topics is communication skills, because we live in an age where our ability to communicate effectively can be like a superpower. Can you share how you developed your ability to communicate well?

I developed my ability to communicate by being a classroom teacher, podcast host, and by growing a social media presence. I needed to meet my audience where they were at and keep their attention. I found that understanding them well allowed me to use the best language and strategies available to convey my ideas effectively

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I have been a lifelong educator in the areas of social science. I found tremendous success through personal relationships and direct application of the material. I started a more public practice via social media and podcasting in 2018 to test my approach to a wider audience. After nearly two decades, and seeing a severe need in society for what I was doing, I started Patterdox- a supplemental critical thinking education platform to support families that want to equip their teenagers with the ability to understand diverse perspectives and wrestle with nuance.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Intellectual Humility- I know I have a lot to learn
Genuine Curiosity- I am innately curious and always looking to understand things more deeply
Grace- extending courteous goodwill even when it is undeserved.

You must be very intentional in doing these things, it doesn’t come naturally

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am looking for others who know the value of critical thinking and bringing that into both education and society as a whole
