William, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Ive learned that having a open minded mindset can take you far in this life. Usually people get very uncomfortable when they’re in spaces without people with similarities. I tend to personally thrive in these environments however because I see it as a oupportunity to share my experiences with folks who might never have experienced what I experienced. Moreover it becomes a unique space where I get to learn from them as well an obtain new perspectives on things as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have my own Talent management company called Heart of a Lion. My day to day consists of working with various talent in the entertainment and music industry specifying in various projects. I been running this business since 2020 with goals to approach and thrive in the industry by utilizing specific honest methods and tactics. More recently, I have been focused on working on a soundtrack project involving the legendary Barrington Henderson and also helping new artists with upcoming releases as well as teaching the ropes of the industry.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Keep a open mind Be honest to others and yourself
Be Original

To the folks that are just starting out, always remain true to why you wanted to do your profession. Dont get distracted by social media or what other people are doing. There will always be distractions or folks on the sidelines with ulterior motives than what they present. The key is to stay focus and make smart calculated decisions rather than making quick decisions or faking different qualities, Purity goes far in this industry.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful think my parents did for me was teach me the value in being honest and a man of my word. The more I live the more this statement is true. Sometimes keeping your word goes farther than any amount of money. Especially in this day of age where we always have our phones and utilize social media, We often try to live outside of our truth to please others. This perception that we feed for has corrupted us as people. Im glad I had the parents I did growing up.
