Meet Woodley White

We recently connected with Woodley White and have shared our conversation below.

Woodley, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I still bump into imposter syndrome, especially when TikTok shows people my age who seem miles ahead. It’s easy to wonder if I’ll ever catch up. When that happens, I pause and remind myself of two things:

Timing matters. Everything rolls out on its own schedule. When my moment hits, it’ll fit my life—not someone else’s highlight reel. Especially because I absolutely hate social media other than Tik Tok.

Facts beat feelings. I launched a business at 21, fresh out of college, right after our team won the NRF Challenge. I’ve kept clients coming in without a 9-to-5 or paid ads. Those wins count, even if they’re quieter than the flashy stuff online.

So if my results don’t look like theirs yet, that doesn’t make them worthless. It just means I’m building my career on my terms, at my pace, without chasing every shiny object.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

So my business is called Creatively We Design, and right now I’m in the middle of a rebrand. I’m pivoting toward focusing mainly on Shopify design and all-in-one branding solutions, specifically for beauty brands and service providers. I still work exclusively with women-owned businesses, and that’s not changing.

Honestly, the most exciting part of what I do is the freedom. I don’t have to clock in or clock out. And yeah, being an entrepreneur means you’re basically working 24/7, but that’s kind of the beauty of it. You’re building something from scratch, and when you hit those little milestones, it makes all the hard work feel totally worth it.

What makes Creatively We Design really special to me is how flexible it is. I can expand it into different parts of my business, like Lady Boss Uni, which is my passion project. It’s an online learning platform for women entrepreneurs, taught by women entrepreneurs. I want to close the gender gap in industries where women are underrepresented, especially in tech and AI. If someone wants to learn about AI, I want them to be able to do that from a woman who’s actually in the field. I truly believe women have all the skills needed to thrive in these spaces, we just need more access and representation.

Another thing I want people to know about my brand is that it’s deeply women-centered. I care about helping women at every stage, from young dreamers to seasoned professionals. I want to be the person they come to when they’re ready to launch something but don’t know where to start.

That’s why I’m rolling out a tiered system for branding and launch support. It’s called the Launch & Scale Suite, and it’s designed to meet women where they are:

– Essentials Package: This includes a custom Shopify site and full branding logos, fonts, colors, the whole vibe. Perfect for someone starting fresh or rebranding.
– Signature Package: Everything in the Essentials, plus photography and a lead generation product. This is great for businesses looking to grow their audience.
– Premium Package: This one’s the full experience branding, website, photography, videos, a full brand booklet with mockups of merch, and a more advanced lead gen product like an ebook or even a course.

And just to be clear, my whole approach is super hands-on. I work with my clients, not for my clients. I want my clients vision to come to life, so we’re not one of those companies that takes a form and disappears for a month. We’re in it together, every step of the way.

Oh, and fun fact: I’m a total foodie. I love trying new restaurants and dishes from all over the world. I’m not really on social media, so if we work together, you might get a peek at some of the amazing food I’ve discovered—if you’re into that kind of thing!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities I’ve leaned on the most in my journey are tenacity, creativity, and kindness.

First up—tenacity. If you’re going to be an entrepreneur, you’re going to hear a lot of “no’s.” You’ll deal with doubters, and honestly, the biggest doubter will probably be you. Especially after a few setbacks or when funds are low, it’s easy to start thinking maybe you should just get a 9-to-5 and live a “normal” life. But I guess I was built differently, I just couldn’t accept that. I’ve reworked my business over and over, redesigned my website, learned new skills to better serve my clients… and I never gave up. I always believed there was light at the end of the tunnel. If you want to make it in entrepreneurship, tenacity isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Next is creativity. I’m not a trained graphic designer, but I see things. I can visualize how a site should look, how a logo should feel, and I use that creativity to help my clients bring their brand to life. Sure, I use Shopify templates, but I customize them so deeply that by the time my clients see the final product, it feels like a completely original site. I really take the time to understand what works for their brand and what they’re trying to communicate.

And finally, kindness. I’ve had my fair share of bad customer service experiences, and I never want anyone to feel that way when working with me. I truly believe that when you lead with kindness, you get kindness in return. Whether my client is 19 or 65, I give them the same level of care and attention. I know not everyone is tech-savvy, so I make sure they feel supported every step of the way. I don’t just hand over a product, I walk with them through the process.

If you’re just starting out, here’s what I’d tell you:

– First, master customer service. It can make or break your business. You won’t always be right, and when you’re not, how you handle it matters. Do you deflect and blame the client? Or do you have an honest conversation, take responsibility, and fix it? And when the client’s in the wrong, do you come at them with “I’m right, you’re wrong”? Or do you say, “Maybe I could’ve explained that better, let’s make sure we’re on the same page”? That kind of approach builds trust.

– Second, figure out what you really want to do. I thought I wanted to be an executive assistant, until I became one and realized it drained my creativity. I liked being behind the scenes, but not doing the nitty-gritty tasks that didn’t light me up. So if you’re unsure, try a few things. See what sticks. When something feels right, go all in.

– And third, build a solid circle of other entrepreneurs. People who get it. People who understand the highs and lows, who won’t make you feel like you should quit and go back to a 9-to-5. You need people who’ll celebrate your wins and hold space for your losses. That kind of support makes all the difference when you’re on the edge of giving up.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m currently looking to collaborate with other amazing women for Lady Boss Uni! I have a clear vision for what I want it to become, but I’ll be honest, social media isn’t my strong suit. I’m not someone who loves being online all the time, so I’d love to partner with a woman who does, someone who thrives on social, loves being the face of her brand, and genuinely believes in closing the gender gap in industries where women are underrepresented.

I’m also looking for a talented graphic designer Honestly for creatively we design for my tiers and to help us market Lady Boss Uni in a way that truly connects with our audience. Ideally, I’d love for the entire team to be women-led, so if you’re a designer who’s passionate about empowering women, we can definitely explore a barter or partnership that works for both of us.

Eventually, I’ll also need a project manager, someone organized and driven who can help keep us on track as we build and launch. My goal is to officially launch in Q3 of 2026 with at least 100 courses across different categories. I know that’s ambitious, but I believe in it, and I believe in the power of women working together.

Lady Boss Uni is all about creating access. Yes, you can Google things or search YouTube, but with so much information out there, it’s hard to know where to start or what’s actually useful. I want this platform to be a clear, supportive space where women can learn from other women and build the businesses and careers they’ve been dreaming about.

So if you’re a woman who:
– Loves social media and wants to be the face of something powerful
– Is a graphic designer ready to lend her creative magic
– Or is a project manager who thrives on structure and strategy…

I’d love to hear from you! Let’s build something incredible together.
