We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Wyatt Poindexter a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Wyatt, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
When people ask where my generosity comes from, my answer is always the same—it comes from my parents, and especially my mom. I grew up watching them give without expecting anything in return. They were never focused on what they could take, but always on how they could help others, and that left a lasting impression on me.
For me, it’s never been about chasing money. What drives me is trying to build and protect a good name and reputation, which isn’t always easy in real estate. But I’d rather be known for doing the right thing, for treating people with respect, and for standing by my word than for any deal I’ve ever closed. That mindset, I know without a doubt, comes from the example my parents set for me every single day growing up.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’ve been in real estate for 30 years, and one of the things I love most about this career is that no two days are ever the same. It’s exciting, rewarding, and yes—sometimes stressful—but that challenge is part of what keeps me passionate about it. Today, I’m proud to serve as the Managing Partner of The Agency in Oklahoma, where I get to combine decades of experience with a team I truly believe in.
Faith and family are central in my life. I’m an active member of Life.Church, and outside of work, my greatest joy comes from spending time with my wife, kids, and close friends. I also believe in keeping a strong mind and body, and one of my daily routines is a cold plunge—it’s something I look forward to every morning.
When I’m not working or with family, you’ll often find me mountain biking, snowboarding, at a concert, or cheering on the Sooners and the OKC Thunder. Cars have always been another passion of mine, and I enjoy the fun and community they bring.
At the end of the day, I’m grateful that my work allows me to build relationships, create opportunities, and make a positive impact on the people I meet along the way.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’ve always believed that real estate isn’t just about houses—it’s about creativity, storytelling, and making people *feel* something when they see a home. That’s probably why I’ve woven art and creativity into everything I do in real estate marketing. Almost everyone in my family is an artist, so I guess it’s in the DNA. I just decided to take that creativity and put it into video shoots, photography, staging, branding, and sometimes even painting when I need a little “real estate therapy.”
I work very hard every single day, because I know success doesn’t just show up on its own. I don’t take any of it for granted. My mindset has always been: work like someone is trying to take your job—because in real estate, plenty of people are! That drive keeps me sharp, focused, and a little competitive (in a good way).
At the same time, I don’t take myself too seriously. I like to find the humor in the chaos, and I’ve learned that a good laugh with clients or colleagues can take the edge off even the most stressful day. So if you’re looking for someone who will outwork the competition, market with creativity, and keep things fun along the way—that’s me.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Something I’ve really grown from in the last 12 months is the commitment to consistency. I try to add something new into my life every year, whether it’s for my health or for real estate. For 2025, I decided I was going to challenge myself to write one blog on my website every single day, starting January 1st. And here we are—I’ve actually done it.
To be honest, it’s been very time-consuming and some days I wondered what I’d gotten myself into. But it’s been worth every late night and early morning. Writing daily has pushed me to be more creative, more disciplined, and more thoughtful about how I share value with people. And the coolest part? I’ve actually gained new clients directly from those blogs, which makes the effort even more rewarding.
The lesson for me has been that growth doesn’t always come from doing something flashy or big—it comes from showing up consistently, even when it’s inconvenient. It’s taught me that small, steady habits can create long-term results, both in health and in business.
