We were lucky to catch up with Xavier Barrett recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Xavier , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
When it comes to work ethic I have had the privileged to see my dad and grandma live and breathe the epitome of a strong work ethic. My grandma was a business woman in Chile in an era where woman couldn’t do basic things like men could such as driving or even having a bank account in their name.
Despite societies limitations on her she ran a sewing business which she continued even when she moved to the US to help raise me.
My dad is someone who truly was a man of his word. Discipline and consistency were his biggest traits and there was nothing he couldn’t do when he set his mind on something. He showed me the importance of having a plan and master delayed gratification to execute that plan.
Couldn’t be more blessed to have had these 2 role models when it came to work ethic.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a gym owner and a Realtor. Two businesses that require building relationships and mastering your craft.
I am constantly trying to improve my education through certifications, seminars, and just learning from other like minded individuals and professionals in my field to maximize the value I can give to my clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Discipline, delayed gratification, and humility have been the three most impactful qualities in my journey.
Discipline kept me moving forward when motivation ran out. As a full-time college student balancing school, launching RevBody, and starting a real estate career, discipline was the thread that held it all together. My advice? Don’t wait to feel ready—build habits, create structure, and show up daily even when it’s hard.
Delayed gratification helped me stay focused on long-term goals rather than chasing quick wins. There were many moments where I could’ve taken the easier path, but I learned to trust the process. For anyone early in their journey—be patient. Stay locked in on your vision and let the results come in due time.
Humility reminded me that I don’t know everything—and that’s okay. I’ve been blessed to learn from incredible people, but that only happened because I stayed open, coachable, and genuinely interested in others. No matter how far you get, never lose sight of the fact that relationships matter more than titles.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My mom was my why behind everything I did growing up. My dad’s ideologies when it came to reaching my goals is what got me to where I’m at but my mom by my side through it will was the driving force of why I never gave up even when I wanted to.
I’m so blessed to be their son and part of becoming an adult is realizing your parents did the best they could do with the knowledge that they had. For example, my dad didn’t have a dad so him just being there for me regardless of how tough his version of love is was him wanting better for me than what he had and me becoming a father I can only build on what my parents taught me. The good and the bad, experiences were had that led me to become the person I am today. So my parents just being themselves and both wanting what’s best for me was the most impactful thing they did for me as co parents.
