We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Xik Art. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Xik below.
Hi Xik, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my need to create and my ethnicity, I come from Puerto Rico, it’s built in our DNA to be resilient. The need to create comes to that creativity is about doing meaningful and fulfilling activities. By doing this I feel completion and purpose on going the correct path in this journey we call life. With this I have all I need to be resilient, creating, living, exploring fills all for me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
The concept for most of my work comes from my life, my work can be inspired by even a color combination that gets my heart beating faster. I have always loved to be creative, making art or just simply create anything, is a great way to express how you feel and to show your imagination. My brand is focused on happiness, creativity and just having a good time ding what you love. I am now on a journey of exploring new ways of introducing my art and expand trough the masses. Just finding new ideas and inspiration with my surroundings. This is my favorite part of the journey, the path on the next adventure.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I enjoy learning and reading, when I work I listen to podcasts, I look for inspiration everywhere especially in normal day kinda subjects. So with all of this I have learned, to listen, learn and enjoy life, our environment, our all. I find this my biggest inspiration and way to be creative. I have found from a long time ago, that empathy is one of the main keys of being human. Now a days, people focus more on their own, I don’t blame them I understand, it’s the environment and times we live in. We all look for our own comfort in life and thats respectable, we should be grateful for any event in our life.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client always connects with me, we all have our own audience, I have mine and I am very grateful for mine, You always know the people you are going to vibe with and get along. One thing very important I have learned is to say no. If something or someone doesn’t give you the best vibe, felling or whatever you want to call it, just say no. An ideal client for me is that is likely close or in my tune of life, and respects what I do.
