Yan Ling, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
While I am now an optimist even in trying times, I used to assume the worst and center on the negatives until my late 20s. I had low confidence, felt ashamed and that I was not worthy enough. It was difficult for me to establish a trusting relationship and afraid to make commitment. My heart was closed.
Meeting a qigong master 20 years ago profoundly reshaped my perspective on life. His wisdom sparked newfound forgiveness, opening my heart for the first time since childhood traumas. I confronted my wounds, dispelled shadows, and truly forgave my past. I realized that the universe operates on a principle of affirmation. Our thoughts, whether positive or negative, ultimately manifest in our reality. Embracing a positive mindset is key to facilitating greatness instead of descending into pessimism, which can lead us down a challenging path.
Guided by the master, daily meditation and spiritual practice, I emerged from negativity to a hopeful state even when facing adversity. My mindset began to shift from limitation to boundless possibilities whenever I faced challenges. As a result, solutions came quickly, opportunities opened up with abundance. My life has been enriched in meaningful ways. This transformation led me to discover my soul mate and life partner, and I’m grateful every day for my loving daughter who brings a smile to my face. I’m inspired to share these holistic healing tools with others, enabling them to unlock their full potential, embrace vitality, attain clarity, and thrive in prosperity.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m certified Reiki Master teacher, stress relief professional and a global finance expert. As a 20-year holistic healing practitioner, I am passionate about empowering professionals on a transformative journey of self-care, rejuvenation and massive impact through Reiki practice.
Working in the high stress finance sector for 20 years, I understand first-hand how challenging it can be to advance our career while juggling with personal life demands and caring for our loved ones. I’ve used holistic tools that helped me and hundreds of busy professionals and caregivers to de-stress quickly while access their inner power for a joyful and impactful life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
When looking back, I consider the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey of sharing the Reiki holistic practice with others are 1) self-discipline, 2) resourcefulness, and 3) having a champion mindset.
For folks who are early in their journey, discover your purpose as early as possible, stay healthy so you can pursue your dreams with big impacts with joy, and build your expertise by learning from the best with a supportive network. If you could volunteer on a project without pay and feeling inspired, you’ve found your passion! Then dedicate the time and resources to prepare and reach your goals with persistence so you can make the most impacts successfully. No matter how busy your life appears to be, set time on your calendar to center yourself and stay healthy physically, mentally, through tools that resonate with you. Having a healthy foundation is critical to your resilience and success. Lastly, to reduce blind spots, build your confidence and expertise, it is key to seek counsel and learn from experts in your field, and build your tribe by surrounding yourself with positive people and mastermind groups for support, accountability and feedback.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’d love to collaborate with companies who offer stress relieve and wellness programs for their employees. According to the American Institute of stress, 83% of US workers suffer from work-related stress, with 25% saying their job is the number one stressor in their lives, which compromises their health and performance.
More individuals are recognizing the importance of mental well-being, leading to a surge in demand for mental health services, meditation apps, and stress management tools. Practices like mindfulness meditation, Reiki, yoga, and stress management techniques will remain popular as people seek ways to manage anxiety and reduce stress.
Employers who prioritize mental health benefits for their employees will have a happier and more productive workforce. Since last year after the COVID pandemic, I’ve been invited by companies and hospitals to provide Reiki therapeutic workshops and healing sessions to reduce employees’ stress while improve focus and productivity.
