Meet Yarden Ronen-van Heerden

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yarden Ronen-van Heerden. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yarden below.

Yarden, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

This question strikes a chord with me, mainly because my journey into real estate evolved from a creative background, encompassing a 15-year career as a professional contemporary dancer and a 13-year tenure in arts management. It’s fascinating how much my personal artistic journey has shaped my approach to real estate today!

Creativity is an integral part of who we are, and for me, it’s an important source of energy and exploration that I use daily to enhance my work in real estate. The Westchester market has been very competitive, which forces me to utilize different strategies to uncover inventory in areas that may seem limited. I always strive to develop solutions and help my clients overcome challenges they often face during the transaction, whether buying or selling. I also use my creativity to develop a distinct online presence through my Compass website and social media platforms. This allows clients and colleagues to connect with me on a deeper level.

Outside of real estate, cooking gets my creative juices flowing for sure! When you take a bunch of ingredients (usually whatever is in the fridge, in my case) and make something delicious – there’s a strong sense of accomplishment!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As a licensed realtor, my passion for helping others achieve their dreams has always fueled my success! I serve clients with a broad range of goals and operate primarily in Westchester County, just north of New York City. To date, I’ve closed on over $35 million in sales, striving to serve my best and dedicate myself to the profession. My approach is grounded in integrity, attentiveness, and empathy as a trusted advisor to my clients for all their real estate needs.

My background in dance’s artistic and managerial aspects has honed my attention to detail and strengthened my negotiation skills. With these experiences and an understanding of Westchester’s local real estate market, I strive to be a great resource throughout the home-buying and selling journies. In today’s digital age, and especially as a Compass agent, I utilize cutting-edge social and digital marketing strategies to connect with qualified buyers and sellers. I stay current with the latest research, analytics, and market trends to ensure my clients receive the most up-to-date information.

As part of “The Hillary’s Homes Team,” I work alongside a fantastic agent, Hillary Landau, celebrated as Westchester Magazine’s “2023 Best Agent.” Hillary gave me my first chance in real estate, and I’m forever grateful for her! Together with two other fabulous agents, our team offers local expertise and a connection to a vast network of professionals in the transaction for a smooth and exceptional experience in every sale.

Beyond local boundaries, I often help clients facilitate relocations outside New York through a dedicated network of professional grassroots Compass agents across the United States.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

First, find a balance between being a “people person” and taking time for yourself. Being available and committed to those you work with is essential, but remember to prioritize private time for you and your family. Offer support to your colleagues as much as possible, and be willing to lend a helping hand when needed!

Second, you should continue expanding your knowledge and skills, as staying informed is essential for effectively serving your clients in our ever-changing industry.

And lastly, be prepared to put in significant effort and avoid expecting instant success. The role of a real estate agent requires patience and foresight, both for yourself and your clients. Success may take time, but it can be achieved with determination.

How would you describe your ideal client?

The ideal client embraces a collaborative approach, expresses their goals clearly, enjoys working together to achieve them, and trusts in the process and my guidance. Most of my clients become my friends! My ideal client is someone who sets clear goals and communicates them openly with me, allowing me to provide the best possible solutions. The key to enhancing their experience and trust is open, honest, and effective communication and creating a team environment where we stay responsive through the transaction

When it comes to my clients, building strong relationships is very important. I love it when clients express gratitude by leaving a great testimonial, giving a small gift, or recommending me to their family, colleagues, and friends. It’s an incredibly fulfilling feeling! I feel grateful to work with such an amazing group of people, and if I can do something to improve their lives, then mission accomplished!
