Yasmin, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is deeply rooted in my faith and walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. I have obtained wisdom, principles and values from the word of God, which have guided me through some of the toughest challenges. God’s word provides me with the strength and determination to overcome obstacles in both business and personal life. I have a steadfast belief that challenges are opportunities to let go of what I’ve outgrown and improve in my character, fortifying the faith needed to be patient as I wait for my prayers to be answered. The word of God truly helps me navigate as an entrepreneur. Additionally, having accountability and drawing strength from a community of believers who share these same principles, reinforces me to overcome adversities.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a Latin girl who migrated to the states with my parents in the mid 90s. We first lived in New York, shortly after we moved to South Florida where I have been planted ever since. At a very young age, I wanted to work for myself, so I picked up cookie routes to earn income. By the age of 16, I bought my first vehicle with my own money and was already working a customer service job for a research company. In my 20s, I navigated through challenges, stumbling into the wrong relationships, experiencing abuse followed by heavy depression. However, a pivotal moment occurred in 2019 when I encountered Jesus, and that encounter brought true transformative change, reshaping the course of my life.

After my encounter with Jesus in 2019, my life underwent a profound transformation. Inspired by new found purpose, in June of 2020, I founded “Stir It Up Mobile Bar,” a business that serves beverages but also illustrates the love for serving others. With faith, I’ve embarked on a journey that not only has redeemed my life but also allowed me to pour that same refreshing onto others.

Stir It Up Mobile Bar, currently offers a unique experience through mobile bar services backed by our passion to service. We tend to special celebrations such as weddings, baby showers, birthdays and more. What sets us apart is our commitment to providing not just a service but creating meaningful experiences for our clients. The most exciting aspect of our work is seeing the during-event reactions and the post-event wonderful feedback we get from our clients. We greatly enjoy crafting custom drinks for each event! From signature mocktails and cocktails or even coffee beverages that not only taste great but lead to conversations and memorable moments. In all we do, we aim to stay true to our faith-based values, doing our work with love, patience, kindness and excellence.

Our brand is built on integrity, exceptional service, and the belief that every celebration should be a reflection of joy and community. We take pride in the quality of our mobile bar services, ensuring that each event is not only well-catered but also uplifting.

In terms of exciting news, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming launch for mixology classes, providing the public with a unique opportunity to learn the art of mixology for sheer enjoyment! Stayed tune and follows to know class dates and location.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, I would say the three key elements that stand out as highly impactful are:

#1 Faith-Centric Leadership:
Embracing a faith-centric approach in leadership has been foundational. It provides a moral compass, guiding decisions and staff and client actions. For those starting their journey, cultivating a strong ethical foundation with God and aligning with core values will contribute to long-term success.

#2 Adaptability and Innovation:
Being adaptable to change and fostering new trends has allowed Stir It Up Mobile Bar to stay relevant. Early in your journey, be open to new ideas, stay curious, and continuously seek ways to improve and adapt your business model.

#3 Community Building:
Building a supportive work team has been instrumental. Also, building a customer base with a tract record for superb service, doing collaborations with other event professionals and networking with like-minded individuals enhances resilience and opens doors for opportunity. To those starting out, invest time in relationship-building, both with your staff and clients. Go out and networking, as it not only brings brand awareness but can also help create valuable friendships that can lead to a strong support system.

Advice for those early in their journey:

Do not be afraid to fail, “For a righteous man may fall seven times
And rise again! “ Embrace Challenges! Challenges are inevitable, but they offer valuable lessons. Embrace them as opportunities for growth. Each hurdle is a chance to refine your skills and strategies.

Learn continuously and stay curious and commit to lifelong learning. Absorb knowledge from various sources – industry trends, business strategies, and personal development.

Seek mentorship by connecting with mentors who have walked a similar path and carry your same foundational values. Their insights and experiences can provide invaluable guidance, helping you navigate challenges more effectively.

Remember, the journey is a continuous process of growth and discovery. Stay true to your values, be resilient, and enjoy the up and down adventure that entrepreneurship brings.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I turn to God. I find solace in prayer, drawing strength from Him. Additionally, taking short breaks for deep breaths, worship or a brief walk provides mental clarity. It’s crucial to recognize when to ask for help and to maintain a healthy work-life balance for sustained resilience and finding time to not just rest your body but your soul.

In moments of overwhelming stress or challenges, I challenge you to turn to God through prayer and seek spiritual guidance and eventually it will become a profound source of comfort for you. We must acknowledge that we are not in control and express one’s concerns, hopes, and gratitude to God in order to surrender. It’s a way to find perspective, reassurance, and strength beyond personal capabilities.

The act of surrendering worries through prayer often brings a sense of peace, reminding us that we are not alone in our deepest and darkest times. Building a relationship with God will instill resilience and give you a deeper understanding of your true purpose.

Additionally, integrating spiritual practices into daily life like reading the bible, daily devotionals and listening to biblical teachings can foster a continuous sense of peace and identity, providing a strong foundation for overcoming obstacles. When you pray and read your bible, turning to God becomes not just a coping mechanism but a transformative and uplifting force that shapes and transform your heart. It will impact your life on a much greater scale than anything else on this world!
