Meet Yasmine Perez

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yasmine Perez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Yasmine, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

A little story time… I grew up very shy and insecure. Maybe it was due to the lack of love I felt in different areas of my life growing up.

I moved to Europe when I was 9 years old and in the 4th grade. I looked so different from everyone else in school. I was the only tan and dark-haired Latin. As a kid, I didn’t pay much attention to whether I looked like the other kids or not, but when 6th grade came around, I started to notice.

Kids started to point fingers and make fun of my “style” and “looks.” I was so upset that God made me so different. I dealt with that for a very long time. I would talk to Him and ask Him why I wasn’t tall, skinny, or didn’t have blonde hair and blue eyes.

It built this deep sadness and insecurity in me. While this was happening, I was also in a whole new country with people who didn’t speak English. We left our family, encountered a new culture, and things with my biological father were horrible. Heartbreaking.

It wasn’t until I was 14-15 years old that I found myself at a youth night. I gave my life to Jesus and found a new identity in Him. All the things that had happened to me no longer mattered. I started to love myself and all that God had made me to be. It was like scales fell off my eyes, and I could see!

It took time and practice to look at myself in the mirror and fully love who I am. But by the grace of God, I found her. If it weren’t for those hard times, I don’t think I would have built this resilience and true love I have for myself!

It took self-discovery!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

This is exciting!! I love to share all of the beautiful things happening. In case we have not met yet, my name is Yasmine, and I am your local content creator and strategist. I own two businesses called Salt Studio LA and Thirty One.

Salt Studio is my creative agency, helping health and wellness brands, including med spas and the aesthetic field! Thirty One is my newest baby—well, more of a revamp. It once was called Beverly Hills Mom Club, but there has been a recent rebrand with really fun new pieces. If you love yoga, pilates, and comfy, cute clothes, you will want to stay tuned with what we are building!

Both of these mean so much to me. Each name has a story to tell and a deep meaning. I love to share this part every time! Salt Studio comes from the book of Matthew: “You are the salt of the world!” So is your business. We need more of you; like salt, you add flavor. What is salt if it does not add flavor? The world needs your skills and talents! This company is built on relational equity and longevity in partnerships.

Thirty One comes from Proverbs 31: the hard-working woman who is also elegant, graceful, and lovely!

The love of God is silently engraved in my work!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Top three skills in life I highly recommend.

1. Get social skills

You will never get anywhere in life by walking into a room and feeling awkward. You own the room. Use your energy to carry the room and speak. Socialize!

2. People skills

Read the room! Learn people. Watch people. Win people by how you communicate and love others.

3. The ability to celebrate others

Once you understand that this life is greater than yourself. You will understand the power of celebrating others even when you may not be winning yourself. Th greatest win is to celebrate a friend who is winning themselves!

Cheers!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! Always! Anyone in the health and wellness field. Products, Pilates studios, gyms, aesthetics, or med spas.

I would love to hear your story and what it is you are building. To see how we can both build an incredible partnership. Building a brand we both believe in and see it grow!
