Meet Yazmeene

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yazmeene a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Yazmeene , we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

Self-care has really impacted me because it’s helped me understand who I am today. Taking time to slow down and truly get to know myself has made it easier for me to reflect, make better choices, and set healthy boundaries. It also shows me the areas I still need to grow in, without judging myself for being a work in progress.

Self-care, for me, can look like trying new restaurants, going out with someone I enjoy, treating myself to a movie, shopping, or booking a massage. I also love being productive at home—cleaning my space, studying, or spending time in the Word. As a spiritual person, reading the Bible gives me guidance, encouragement, and wisdom for my relationships and everyday decisions. And sometimes, self-care is simply giving myself permission to rest and have a peaceful day.

Taking care of my appearance is a big part of my self-care too. Getting my hair done, getting my nails done, and keeping up with my beauty routine makes me feel confident, grounded, and reminds me of the value I bring to the table. Eating healthier and working out are also important for me—they help me feel stronger, more energized, and more connected to my body.

I’m still growing, but I know that if I stay consistent with the way I take care of myself—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—my future self will thank me. My growth will show in how I move, how I speak, and how I show up for myself and for others.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m an emerging multi-disciplinary creative focused on music, modeling, acting, and personal development. Everything I do is rooted in authenticity, confidence, and spiritual growth. My journey is about becoming the best version of myself while inspiring others to do the same.

As an artist, I’m developing my sound and storytelling through my GRAMMY U mentorship—something I honestly didn’t expect to be part of. It happened so randomly and unexpectedly, but it reminded me that when you walk in purpose, the right doors open. GRAMMY U has given me opportunities to learn, grow, and build real connections within the music industry.
In modeling, I’m creating a portfolio that highlights my versatility, femininity, and bold visual style. And with acting, I’m learning how to express emotion, depth, and presence so people can feel something real when they watch me. All of these passions are things I’ve loved since I was a child, but back then I didn’t have the tools or the confidence to step out of my comfort zone. Now I’m finally giving myself permission to pursue what I always felt called to do.

What excites me most is the impact I want to make. I want people to feel inspired when they see my work. I want them to feel like they can be themselves—fully, freely, and without apology. I want them to feel confident and beautiful in their skin, and empowered to live life to the fullest. I want my journey to remind people that it’s okay to have ups and downs, to grow, to start fresh, and to choose themselves. We all have our own minds and our own paths, and I want people to feel seen, understood, and encouraged when they come across my name

Right now, I’m expanding my creative side through music development, acting training, consistent content creation, and building my modeling portfolio. This is just the beginning, but I’m committed to staying consistent, grounded, and intentional as I grow. I want my story to be something people can feel, relate to, and be transformed by.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Being Open-Minded
Being open-minded allowed me to explore paths I never expected—like music opportunities, modeling, and even acting. It helped me say “yes” to things that scared me but were meant for me. Staying open has allowed me to grow, learn, and step into spaces I once thought were out of reach. For anyone starting their journey, don’t box yourself in. Be open to new experiences, new opportunities, and a new version of yourself.
Having Vision
Vision is what keeps me going. It’s the bigger picture I hold onto even when life has ups and downs. Having a vision for who I want to be—creatively, spiritually, and personally—helps me stay consistent. It guides my decisions and pushes me out of my comfort zone. For anyone early in their journey, dream big and keep that vision close. Even if you don’t have all the tools yet, your vision will lead you.
Confidence wasn’t something I always had. I grew into it. From being shy as a child to finally stepping into music, modeling, and acting, confidence allowed me to break out of my comfort zone. It helped me believe in my own potential even when I didn’t have all the tools. For anyone early in their journey, confidence starts with trusting yourself, pouring into yourself, and doing things that make you feel good inside and out. Being bold and brave, persistent and aggressive

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I knew I only had a decade of life left, I would spend it fully living in alignment with my passions, purpose, and the people I love. I would take more risks, pursue opportunities I might normally hesitate on, and dedicate my time to doing what truly fulfills me—especially creating music and expressing myself creatively. I would make sure the people in my life know how much I love them, stay kind, and approach every day with gratitude.

I would also deepen my spiritual connection with God, travel, experience new cultures, and use my gifts to uplift and help others. Most importantly, I would live intentionally: staying humble, open-minded, strong in my values, and encouraging others not to take life for granted. Life is what we make of it, and I would make my decade meaningful by choosing joy, purpose, and impact.
