Meet Yereni Ramirez

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yereni Ramirez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Yereni, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose by remembering my grandparents’ teachings about sacred seeds and reconnecting with my roots.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am an artisan woman dedicated to creating ancestral foods, with a special focus on chocolate. My mission is to promote the importance of preserving natural and Mexican ancestral foods because the modern world needs to reconnect with what is natural and view food with respect.

I believe eating is not just about sustenance; it is an act of pleasure and a way to nourish both the body and soul. By choosing clean, natural ingredients and honoring traditional techniques, we can create a sense of balance and well-being in our lives. Through my work, I hope to inspire people to be more mindful and selective about what they consume, embracing food as a source of joy, health, and connection.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three key qualities have been impactful: resilience, cultural knowledge, and creativity.

1. Resilience: Staying determined despite challenges has been essential. For those just starting, embrace obstacles as opportunities to grow.

2. Cultural Knowledge: Deepening my understanding of ancestral traditions has guided my work. Connect with your roots and let authenticity shape your journey.

3. Creativity: Embracing new ideas and experimenting has helped me stand out. Stay curious and open to innovation.

Success comes from passion, persistence, and staying true to your values.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful lesson my parents taught me is through congruence—they lived in alignment with what they said. Their actions always matched their words.
