Meet Ygarr Ygarrist

We were lucky to catch up with Ygarr Ygarrist recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Ygarr , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

In my youth I loved sports but knew I was to small to ever make it professionally. In 1962 my parents bought me an acoustic guitar but that didn’t cut it for me. When The Beatles did the Ed Sullivan show in 1964 it peaked my interest in music. Then in 1965 I saw The Rolling Stones and I clearly saw my life’s path. I started out with a Fender Mustang took a few guitar lesson to learn rhythm guitar so I could be like Brian Jones

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Being a founder of the Space rock band Zolar X. I have over 200 songs written ranging from Punk too Symphonies. I’ve written two musical stories with soundtracks Future Visions & Space Punk City and I’m a co author of Out of this World the story of Zolar X. What I’m doing right now is recording all the songs I’ve written with my computer for my legacy. I’m looking for a company to help me release this music to the world.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

When you have a dream never give up!
Creating something from nothing like music or art has to be from your soul
When opportunity knocks answer the door
Remember when you are able to do what you love is a gift

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I would love to find some new band mates so I could play this new music to the next generation. I would like to make money doing it. I would be looking for a bass player, drummer, Synthesizer/keyboardist, and 2nd guitarist and all of them should be able to sing, both women and men would be welcome.
