Meet Yo Mark Jean

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yo Mark Jean. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yo Mark below.

Hi Yo Mark, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

Optimism is what happens when I cultivate an attitude of gratitude. What I mean is everything and anything that can come at me or happen in life is really an opportunity either for growth or for getting closer to the goal. So if I take everything as an opportunity I’ll be grateful and as a result optimistic.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

What I do is I create emotional experiences that allow people to connect to the highest good feelings possible. And how I do that is by tapping into the principles of wisdom and letting the good emotions flow through me, into a song and finally into your ears and into your heart. I feel like this is special because having the opportunity to invoke good emotions in another person is like the highest form of loving my fellow man. I’m really passionate about creating moments and the most recent set of moments I created is called taking my leave volume 3 and it’s a mixtape of songs and opportunities to feel good.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think the three qualities that were impactful in my journey are first and foremost gratitude, because everything is an opportunity. Secondly is like discipline because you know being consistent is like a foundational block that success is built on. And lastly resourcefulness, you know finding the resources or a way to get done what needs be done that’s probably one of the most valuable assets a person can have.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

I feel like my number one obstacle or challenge that I’m currently facing is just being able to create moments consistently that people can connect with on a large scale. Because like you know I’m going to connect with people who are like me the easiest and the most frequently. So just being able to overcome like that desire to connect with those who are like me and being able to go beyond just those who are like me and being able to connect with large amounts of people from all walks of life. So, what I’m doing to overcome this obstacle is just developing the skill set that allows me to communicate with someone in a way that always allows me to have that human to human connection.
