Yolla, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

My journey into the world of wine began as a simple idea during a wine tasting, which led me to expand my education and pursue certifications in both wine and cheese.

With 20 years of experience in the restaurant business and a passion for pairing wine with cheese, I knew I was ready to create something special of my own. As time went on, I became more knowledgeable and even more passionate and my love for wine is what drew me to this field and brought me to open up my business in 2024. Thus, Perfect Pairing was born!

I never knew that one day my career would change. This is where I found my purpose.

My name is Yolla Awad, I’m the owner of Perfect Pairing in Farmington Hills, MI.

I Have two college degrees in Computer Graphic Technology and in Business Information Systems, and I speak, read, and write in three languages. I have Level 2 in Wine and Spirits Education Trusts (WSET), and I am currently studying for my certified sommelier from the Court of Master Sommelier of America.

Perfect Pairing is a Specialty Cheese, Wine and Wine bar in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
We offer a wide range of handpicked local and specialty cheese along with a vast selection of wine from around the world.

Our Wine bar is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine with charcuterie, the cozy place to host your private event.
We do wine Tasting Event, Private tasting and Catering.

What sets Perfect Pairing apart is my dedication to creating unique experiences through handpicked specialty cheeses and wines. “Cheese is more than just food, it’s an experience unique to each individual”.

We take pride in the atmosphere we’ve created and are proud of the many things offered in store. Whether you are looking for a charcuterie board must haves, stopping by to grab your favorite cheese or to enjoy a glass of wine, we are confident that we have something perfect for you!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

There is no secret to a successful business but there are always risks facing and lessons you will learn from but do never give up. Never be afraid to try something new, even if it’s a short-term arrangement.
You must trust yourself that you can do it, never surround yourself with negative people and you must take the first step. Remember, nothing comes so easy in life, you must work so hard to get it. Plan it well.
Having a mentor you can trust is a valuable asset, guidance is always valuable and continuously educates yourself and your team and last don’t forget to take care of yourself, remember your business thrives only if you do.
Owning Perfect Pairing allows me to embrace the joys of entrepreneurship, creativity, and community engagement. “Building my business, being creative, and choosing the right products makes every day exciting and fulfilling”.

As a proud business owner, I enjoy the freedom of being my own boss and the opportunity to give back to the community.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

Perfect Pairing has been in the business for almost 10 months, and we achieved a lot in a short period of time.

With our customer service skills, we have built a solid relationship with our customers that has kept us growing and succeeding.
Our Big Wine Tasting Events (6 in 10 months) put us on the map of Tasting events in the area. We are well known for our Charcuterie Boards, and we are a highly recommended shop in the area.

And to end our first year in business, Perfect Pairing won Best New Business of the Year 2024.
