We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yomarie Llanos. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yomarie below.
Yomarie, thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?
Growing up bilingual and moving to New Jersey from Puerto Rico at a young age gave me an early crash course in communication. I had to quickly learn not just a new language, but how people interact — the nuances, the culture, the unspoken social cues. That experience taught me that effective communication isn’t just about the words you use; it’s about understanding who you’re talking to.
Networking further sharpened that skill. The more people I connected with, the more I learned how to read a room, build rapport, and speak in a way that resonates.
But the real turning point was going through the process of defining my own brand. At Luxe Social Studio, the foundation of everything I do is rooted in the belief that you communicate better when you truly know your audience. That’s why every client engagement starts with diving deep into their dream client persona, their business goals, and how they want to be perceived. When I went through that same process myself, everything clicked.
Seven years of helping clients communicate their products and services more clearly to their audiences has only reinforced that. The more I’ve helped others find their voice, the sharper my own has become.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Luxe Social Studio, and I work as a brand stylist for female entrepreneurs, small business owners, and Latina and BIPOC creatives who are ready to show up in their business with confidence and a brand that actually reflects who they are.
At its core, my work is about helping business owners communicate their value to the right people. A lot of small business owners know what they do, but struggle to translate that into a brand that attracts their dream clients.
That’s where I come in.
Through a process that starts with deep strategy — understanding who you are, who your ideal client is, and how you want to be perceived — I help build brand foundations and digital presences that do the talking for you.
What I find most exciting about this work is the transformation. There’s something incredibly powerful about watching a business owner go from feeling invisible or inconsistent online to showing up with a brand that finally feels like them and starts attracting the clients they actually want to work with. That shift in confidence is everything.
I’m also really passionate about making professional branding accessible to small business owners who may feel like it’s out of reach. You don’t have to be a big brand to have a strong one. Every business deserves to be seen, and I built Luxe Social Studio to make that possible.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three areas of knowledge have shaped who I am as a brand stylist and how I show up for my clients.
The first is my formal education. I’m not someone who believes college is the only path, but I’m genuinely grateful I attended Montclair State University and graduated with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Public and Professional Writing. Beyond the education itself, it was the place where I discovered what I actually wanted to do with my life, and that clarity was everything.
The second is creative writing. Long before I was building brands, I was creating characters and dreaming of being a novelist one day. That background is honestly one of my greatest assets. So much of what I do for clients is about adapting to their voice — understanding how they think, how they speak, and how they want to be perceived. I now see my clients as characters in their own stories, and my job is to help them flesh out the book that is their brand. Every business has a narrative, and creative writing taught me how to find and tell it.
The third is simply the human experience. Networking, observing, listening, and genuinely connecting with people have taught me more than any classroom could. Getting to meet and learn from powerhouse women who continuously raise the bar has pushed me to do the same.
For anyone early in their journey, my advice would be this: don’t overlook the skills that feel personal or unrelated to your career. Your life experiences, your creativity, the way you naturally connect with people — those are your superpowers. Lean into them. And network intentionally. The right community will elevate you in ways you can’t always plan for.

How would you describe your ideal client?
One of the things I’ve loved most about building Luxe Social Studio is that I made a conscious choice not to niche down too narrowly. I genuinely enjoy the variety. I love working with women entrepreneurs, creatives, solopreneurs, and people in the wellness industry, but across all industries, the through line is really about mindset.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to let go of a little control and step fully into the brand persona they’ve been wanting to create.
At a certain point, we can only take ourselves so far before we get lost in our own perspective. Having an outside eye helps you see where you’re not coming across as clearly as you think you are, and that requires a level of openness and trust that not everyone is ready for.
Ego plays a big role in this. The clients I work best with are the ones who are ready to evolve, step outside their comfort zone, and show up consistently in ways that actually get eyes on their business. If you’re ready to do the work, I’m ready to build the brand around it.
In terms of industries, I love the idea of continuously expanding my portfolio. I’ve worked with finance professionals, a wedding harpist, business coaches, and more, and my dream clients include tattoo artists, bakery owners, and local New Jersey small businesses. I also love capturing content at events.
The more diverse the work, the more it fuels my creativity. If you have a business and a vision, there’s a good chance we’d make a great team.
