Meet Young Exotic

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Young Exotic. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Young below.

Young, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

My purpose came from me wanting to help others. Music has always been a passion of mine. I realized music was my passion when I could not do things without it. It helped me get over heartbreaks, sadness, depression, and especially my mistakes and failures. Music just does amazing things for people and there’s all kinds of music for any situation and that truly is the beauty of it. it can bring people together, it can help express how you feel, it can help you understand your feelings, give you confidence, help you get through addictions, most importantly it can help you conquer negativity and push you further than you ever thought you could go but in a positive way. make you happy or make you sad. Music is language anyone can speak and understand. Yes there’s other things in this world that can help you like music but music is such a generational thing that it will always stay at the top, Music can even be your therapy, since we all know how much therapy cost haha. So that’s why music is my purpose, because I believe God gave me this talent and gave me these skills/abilities to help heal people. To show people who are in dark places that they aren’t alone, and someone out there truly understands what they are going through. I want to bring people together through positivity and love. I want to cure their darkness, sadness, and depression. Music is so powerful, it might even be the most powerful thing in this world. I know I can use that power to bring Kansas City together again like we once were before, and then eventually I’ll be saving people all around the world with my music. My passion is music and will always be music. No matter where I go, what I do, Music has always been there to save me and help and pick me up when I’ve fallen so far down.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My name is Young Exotic, and I am a Music Artist, Model, & Owner/Creator of the clothing brand YE7. The most exciting thing about what I chose to do is helping people. I want my music to save & help people who are in need of salvation & are lost. My clothing brand YE7 is to help people feel Young & Exotic in their own way when they wear it. I want YE7 to make people feel confident and comfortable with themselves. I want YE7 to truly be the symbol of just “being yourself’. My a\first album/Ep will be launching soon before this year is over so be on the lookout for it! I truly believe it’s going to be something special that everyone will love and support. No matter who you are, I want my album to resinate with you & help you through whatever type of adversity you are going through!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Confidence is the most important and the hardest one, Forgiveness was the 2nd hardest one for me, and Marketing/Networking is my 3rd. You must be confident in what you do or what you wanna do/succeed in otherwise you’ll never get to where you wanna be or complete what you wanna accomplish. That’s why confidence is the hardest one because you must be able to handle rejection, doubts from others & even yourself. You must learn how to keep pushing through no matter who says you can’t do it or it will never happen because of who you are and where you are. Let your accomplishments talk to and handle those doubts and those haters. no one cares about what you say, they only care about concrete proof and visual success. You can’t give up no matter what and you must keep going. Forgiveness us my 2nd because a lot of people you think have your back, may nit actually care, or may not be supportive in any way and it will hurt, but you can’t focus on them, on those negatives. It only slows you down and hinders you progress, it limits you so much that it can make give up on your dreams and forever live in regret. Haters will make you wanna throw it all away, your friends/ family may even turn on you because they don’t understand what your trying to do and who your trying to be, so you must forgive them because its not their fault they don’t understand, it just means your doing something they wish they could do, its truly another form of jealousy but you can’t pay any mind to it. Forgive your friends you cut off to succeed, forgive your family you cut off to succeed, forgive the ones who do not understand what it takes to make your dreams a reality, because let me tell you it is possible, and you will get there, but you must learn to forgive, just like God forgives us each and everyday. Marketing/networking is my 3rd because you have to know how to present yourself to others and to the world. You need to learn how to get along with people you may not like or people you don’t want to accept. you have to be willing to tell people what dreams you want to accomplish even if it sounds goofy or impossible. You have to be genuine to others so they’ll be willing to understand you instead of just making assumptions about you. Learn to be open about yourself. You can speak things into existence and manifest what your working for, but only if you learn how to tell others about it wether its at the gym or school or most importantly on social media. But if you are mean and rude or seem entitled, then people will start assuming negative things about you and wishing bad on you. But if your genuine and nice, and willing to understand others, then they will be willing to understand you to. most people in this world are not willing to understand anything about anyone but themselves, so its your duty to be different from them, and turn haters into fans

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I’m facing 2 challenges that are my hardest to overcome. That is exposure of my music & collaborating with other artist. the second one is patience. I come from Kansas, born and raised my whole life here. Kansas isn’t too big in the music department like other states. So it’s very hard to get my music heard by lots of people or to even get opportunities for live shows/concerts. A lot of people in Kansas don’t really support their local artist unless they charge a hefty ransom. Same thing goes for live shows/concerts. I’m truly not sure why but I gave up trying to figure out the “why nots” and started focusing on the “will’s”. Why don’t people wanna support my music? I Don’t know but IT WILL happen. My dreams WILL come true. I WILL get a concert, Kansas City WILL love my music, The world WILL love my music, My music WILL bring people together, I WILL collab with other artist, I WILL be great! No more “why nots”, no more “try”, Only “will’s”, Only “do or do nots”

Patience is my second because its hard not to get frustrated or angry when you don’t see as much progress as you hoped for or worked for. That’s because it takes time and effort and intention. You’ll wanna blame other people or God or materialistic things, but the truth is you just need to be patient and wait your turn. Manifestation takes time, it takes a lot of time, nobody can make dreams happen instantly. the ones who stick with it the longest, achieve the greatest. Prove to yourself this is what you want and who you wanna be, believe it with every fiber in your body that you belong where your going and God will do whatever he must to get your their trust me! No matter who you talk to, “patience” is the number 1 key to success, right under self confidence.
