We were lucky to catch up with Youstee recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Youstee, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Honestly, most of it’s hard to explain. I’ve just always had this hunger—this drive toward my goals—that never needed a reason. I never questioned it, it’s just how I am. It’s always felt natural, like the only way to move. My family definitely keeps that motivation going.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

In my work, I’m always trying to share a feeling — a strong emotion or a clear point of view. What excites me most is seeing people react in real time, which is why performing live on stage is my first love. There’s nothing like entertaining a crowd and watching them connect instantly with what I create. My brand is about making people feel powerful, passionate, and alive — through my fusion of R&B, pop, and darker influences, and through the energy I bring to every performance. I’m always focused on growing as an artist, building my audience, and creating unforgettable moments.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

“For me, everything starts with having a clear goal — something that motivates you every single day. The second thing is work ethic, but not just working hard — working smart and pushing yourself to get better daily. And the third is surrounding yourself with people who share your vision, because that energy is contagious. My advice for anyone starting out: get specific about what you want, commit to becoming excellent at it, connect with like-minded people, and above all, don’t quit. Consistency beats everything else.
