Meet Yulia Sadakova

We were lucky to catch up with Yulia Sadakova recently and have shared our conversation below.

Yulia, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

That’s an interesting question to reflect on. As I tried to answer it, countless pieces of my experiences swirled in my mind. One thing I know for sure—I am an optimistic person.

When I feel scared or struggle with something, I ask myself: What’s the worst that could happen? I let my mind dramatize the possibilities all the way to the extreme. And then, at some point, I surrender—to the situation, to uncertainty, to life itself. In that surrender, fear disappears. What remains is freedom. And with freedom comes optimism.

My optimism comes from within, but it’s also deeply rooted in my love for people and my belief in them. I’ve learned to listen to myself, to follow what truly brings me joy, and to walk away from what isn’t meant for me. Being honest with myself gives me a sense of freedom and trust in life.

My parents taught me to appreciate what I have, always do my best, and let go of expectations—because the more expectations you have, the more room there is for disappointment. I choose to see optimism as hope, a deep inner knowing that everything happens for the best.

And sometimes, optimism is as simple as this: when the sun is out, it’s already a great day!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hi, I’m Yulia—the founder of Soulful Kids, a Kundalini yoga teacher, and a jazz singer—a creative mind who loves bringing ideas to life. Whether through movement, music, or storytelling, my goal is to create meaningful and joyful experiences for people.

I started Soulful Kids to bring back magic, movement, and imagination into childhood. Looking at my kids, I can see that they are great at learning, but I wanted to create space for pure joy and creative celebrations. We design immersive birthday experiences that go beyond traditional parties—like adventures with favorite characters, outdoor quests, and our recently launched spa party for girls.

We take care of every detail, from engaging activities to beautiful, custom decorations. We work with a talented artist who creates unique décor, and our team includes a skilled photographer to capture the magic. Recently, we partnered with a videographer to make these memories even more special.
I love bringing creative people together to craft experiences that feel truly magical.

I dream of a world where people support and inspire each other, using their creativity to make life more joyful. That’s the heart of Soulful Kids—because childhood should be filled with laughter, play, and unforgettable moments!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are curiosity, connectivity, and creativity & authenticity.
1. Curiosity & Adaptability – I love learning and never shy away from new challenges. My first degree was in food science, then I earned a diploma in psychology—and now I run a business, teach yoga, and sing jazz. I trust that I can figure things out. Advice: Never stop learning or trying. Change is constant—embrace it, adapt, and grow.
2. Connectivity – People are gold. You never know who will inspire you, offer valuable advice, or open new doors. Advice: Meet new people, ask questions, and build genuine relationships. You don’t have to do everything alone.
3. Creativity & Authenticity – Creativity fuels everything I do, from designing events to teaching yoga and performing. But just as important is authenticity—staying true to yourself and your vision. Advice: Creativity isn’t just talent—it’s practice. Explore, experiment, and trust your unique perspective.

Beyond that, take small steps daily. Even three minutes a day can build momentum—that’s how I started meditating.
Prioritize honestly—right now, my family comes first, so I shape my business around my kids’ schedules, with the incredible support of my husband. Your priorities define your path—be clear on what truly matters to you.

Most importantly, trust yourself and take action. You don’t need all the answers—just start. The rest will unfold along the way.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was trust me—my choices, my decisions, and my path. They never dictated what I should do but always believed in my ability to figure things out. My mom used to say, “You have your own head on your shoulders,” reminding me that every action leads to an outcome, and it’s up to me to navigate that.

That trust gave me the confidence to explore, learn, and take risks without fear. It’s something I deeply appreciate and hope to pass on to my own kids—guiding them with love but allowing them the freedom to make their own choices and grow from their experiences.
