Meet Zachary York

We were lucky to catch up with Zachary York recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Zachary, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

The business model is straightforward: to empower artists to focus on creating in the studio, instead of managing their digital presence. Both are essential to success and having a strong website is a crucial step for any artist.

Recognizing this need, I saw an opportunity at the intersection of helping artists market their craft, my technical expertise, and my passion for creative design solutions. Alongside my mother, a working artist herself, we set out to develop a plan that would support the art community.

I’m known for approaching challenges with empathy and crafting well-rounded solutions. My passion for language, instruction, visual design, and technology has converged into a service that offers tailored marketing solutions for artists.

My goal is to make a positive difference in how artists engage with the business world.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Our goal is straightforward: to take on the tasks artists would rather avoid. We noticed that many artists either don’t have a website or lack one that’s simple and easy to navigate. Understandably, they’d much rather be in the studio creating. With this in mind, we put our skills and expertise into building a solution: the artist focuses on making art, and we handle everything else. We both like design, and we hope it shows through our work.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

– My instructional design certification, in addition to design I am a pedagogy nerd.
– A mutual love and appreciation for good graphic design.
– My mom and I both have a problem-solving mindset.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

Most of our work and clients have been from word-of-mouth, to be honest. We attribute that to kindness, responsive customer service, and availability/responsiveness to field questions and limit worrying. We put in some serious work and effort to make the process as simple and easy as we can. So, going in on our strengths has been a good move for us.
