Meet Zaid Mahmood

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zaid Mahmood. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Zaid, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Growing up, my journey to self-acceptance wasn’t easy. From a young age, I faced hatred from my own family simply for being myself. The people who were supposed to love me unconditionally instead made me feel like I was unworthy, like I had to hide who I truly was to be accepted. But I refused to let their negativity define me. Instead, I found strength in embracing my identity, surrounding myself with supportive communities, and ultimately building a life that reflects my truth.

Today, I channel that resilience into my work as a content creator. Attending red carpet’s and brand gifting suites is more than just an opportunity to network or showcase luxury items—it’s a testament to how far I’ve come. Every event, every collaboration, and every post I share is a celebration of the person I’ve fought to become. Social media has given me a platform not only to share my passion for fashion and entertainment but also to inspire others who may be struggling with their own self-acceptance.

Building my confidence didn’t happen overnight. It was a journey of unlearning the shame that was placed on me and replacing it with self-love. I found my voice by refusing to let the past dictate my future. Now, when I walk into a room filled with celebrities, influencers, and brands, I do so with my head held high—because I know I deserve to be there. My story is proof that no amount of hatred can overshadow authenticity, and I hope to continue using my platform to remind others that they, too, are worthy of living their truth unapologetically.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Growing up in a religious household where I faced non-acceptance was deeply painful—it took a toll on my mental health and made me question my worth for years. The struggle to be seen, heard, and loved for who I truly am shaped so much of my journey. But instead of letting that pain define me, I used it as fuel to build a life that reflects my authenticity. Professionally, I’ve built a career in marketing and communications, a field that allows me to craft narratives, shape brands, and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

Now, I’m expanding into new spaces that inspire me—fashion and culture. From attending Interviews, Workshops to collaborating with brands that align with my vision, I’m merging my expertise in storytelling with my passion for self-expression. My journey is about more than just content creation; it’s about breaking barriers, advocating for authenticity, and showing others that they, too, can carve out spaces where they are celebrated. As I continue to grow, I’m excited to bring new projects to life, dive deeper into the fashion industry, and use my platform to highlight the intersection of identity, creativity, and resilience.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are resilience, storytelling, and adaptability.

Resilience was essential in overcoming the pain of growing up in a religious household where I faced non-acceptance. There were times when I felt completely alone, but learning to push through the negativity and believe in my own worth helped me build the confidence I have today. My advice for anyone struggling is to find strength in your authenticity—there’s power in owning your truth, even when others don’t accept it.

Storytelling has been the foundation of my career in marketing and communications, as well as my expansion into fashion and culture. Whether I’m creating content, working with brands, or sharing my personal experiences, I’ve learned that the ability to connect with people through authentic narratives is invaluable. For those starting out, I’d recommend honing your voice—whether through writing, social media, or public speaking—because the way you tell your story will set you apart.

Lastly, adaptability has allowed me to evolve and step into new opportunities. From marketing to content creation to fashion, I’ve embraced change and stayed open to learning. My advice? Never box yourself in. Be willing to pivot, take risks, and explore different passions—you never know where they might lead.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

The love and support I’ve received from my close friends and chosen family have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and develop the skills needed to succeed. They’ve been my anchors, offering encouragement when I felt unsure of myself and reminding me of my worth during the toughest times. Their belief in me, even when I struggled to believe in myself, has fueled my growth and helped me stay true to my path. I’m grateful for those who’ve stood by me, lifting me up and pushing me to reach new heights, both personally and professionally.
