Meet Zay Poole

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zay Poole. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Zay, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Lol never thought I’d see this question, but I haven’t overcame it, simple. I’m ok with that sometimes, it’s part of the healing process I’m on now to try and not let it get in my way! I wont say it’s an easy battle because I’m an over thinker an I get in my head a lot an I always believe I can do better than what I’m already doing, or I discourage myself because I’m not where I’d like to be right now currently even though I’ve put in constant work to get there. I know it’s a process but sometimes I wish I could just get a glimpse or something of where I want to be.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am Zay, a 27-year-old entrepreneur pursuing diverse creative ventures in Atlanta, GA, including modeling, acting, and fashion design to name a few. As a versatile innovator, I am involved in various creative activities, except singing and rapping. In 2018, I founded Moonlite Studios and Moonlite Apparel in Sham Sui Po, Hong Kong.

Moonlite Studios is a creative platform and production company that offers services like photography, videography, directing, and graphic designing. Our primary objective is to explore unconventional storytelling methods and experiment with problem-solving approaches. We aim to establish new standards for visual narratives and continually elevate our creations.

Moonlite Apparel seeks to provide an exceptional experience by merging street and luxury fashion. We cater to those who desire the elegance of high-end brands alongside the edginess of streetwear. Our designs draw inspiration from extraterrestrial aspects, Asian culture, and cyberpunk themes to present inventive perspectives on color and style that surpass geographical limits. Discover the perfect blend of luxury, creativity, and accessibility with Moonlite Apparel.

We are excited to announce our first-ever fashion show in Atlanta from November 16th-18th. Follow our brand page to stay updated on this remarkable event that promises three days of networking opportunities and cutting-edge fashion. Don’t miss out on our talented designers, incredible models, and dedicated team members who make it all possible (Shoutout to Princess Davis, Chaylse Ford & Aliyah Ferell). Connect with @OfficialMoonLiteApparel on social media as we bring a unique World x Universe x Dimension experience to Atlanta.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Embrace life and fearlessly pursue opportunities, while distancing yourself from situations that don’t serve your best interests. This valuable guidance encourages you to consider the potential for positive outcomes. Conversely, the advice to “be realistic” is flawed, as one’s reality varies from another’s, making it impossible to impose a singular perspective on what is deemed real.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Lately, I’ve focused on self-awareness and understanding my true self. I apologize if it seems too personal, but I’m working on improving myself and learning to cope with situations beyond my control. I know I’m not perfect, but my goal is to grow and develop as a person. The past few months have been challenging due to toxic relationships, partnerships, collaborations and other personal matters which contributed to my depression and anxiety.

In most of my life, I felt silenced and fearful of expressing myself because the thought of losing others was terrifying. However, I’ve been making progress in letting go for the sake of my peace of mind and personal happiness. Instead of always adhering to others’ schedules, I’m reclaiming my power. As a result, some people left my life, but genuine connections have emerged.

I want to express gratitude to those who have made me feel seen and heard: Naomi, Lyse, Bre, Ashton, and Tenasia. Thank you all so much!
