Meet Zay Simon

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zay Simon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Zay , thrilled to have you on the platform as I think our readers can really benefit from your insights and experiences. In particular, we’d love to hear about how you think about burnout, avoiding or overcoming burnout, etc.

I am happy to say that changing careers has helped me overcome burnout. I am the proud owner & licensed esthetician of Spoiled Skin Solutions where today I live a work life balance allowing me to focus on my family , engage in self care , travel & more. Constantly keeping a notepad in my phone & updating my calendar with work & life events to ensure my brain can keep up & organized. Dividing tasks up throughout the week and checking it off my list is one of the most productive things I have made a habit of. I always preach about work life balance being the key to success & avoiding burnout. Traveling is my peace & I always make time for it, it’s my therapy that allows me to reset & unwind. Scheduling at least one day a week with no work at all . For me this is Sundays where I dedicate to my family Sunday funday! Work isn’t the end all be all. So I encourage everyone to find your balance for peace, happiness & avoiding burnout. Treat yourself!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a proud mama to my 3 year old son-shine, part time CNA & full time business owner esthetician. I started off home based taking clients in my living room where I wanted to build a brand around luxury , relaxation & a one of a kind experience. This is when I created Spoiled Skin Solutions where spoiled treatments meets confidence! I specialize in full body waxing, lash lift, tinting , brow lamination, medical grade & holistic after care products with new services coming soon!! I recently just expanded my business from home based to a suite in Aurora Co! I’m excited to continue to give back to the community at events & through my spoiled sessions! I also offer mentorship & 1 on 1 classes for my most popular services I offer! This is my first year as a esthetician business owner & the growth in a short time is truly remarkable & I want to help others be successful!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I would say the top qualities & skills that impacted my journey would be my ability to work hard, social skills & money management. My advice would be never be shy , closed mouths don’t get fed my mama always said. This means you have to speak & act on what you want. Going to networking events & socializing casually has been a huge success in my business career. I also encourage you to continue your education knowledge is power & the more you perfect your craft the better you can deliver it to your ideal audience!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I am always happy & eager to connect with likeminded individuals. My ideal collab partner would be someone who is passionate, strong minded, great social skills, open to growth & new ideas. Young adult’s & minority is a plus! I love to level up with those who come from nothing & have built themselves up with goals to achieve. If you are reading this & this sounds like a great fit. Please don’t hesitate I’m an open book & have collabed with many different people & businesses!
