Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zeinab Beydoun. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Zeinab , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from both my personal experiences and building my candle company from the ground up. When I started my business, I had no roadmap. In fact, I learned everything through trial and error, from pouring wax at my kitchen table to managing supply issues and designing packaging that reflected my vision. There were plenty of moments where things didn’t go as planned, but instead of giving up, I adapted, learned, and kept moving forward.
Personally, I’ve faced times where I had to rebuild my confidence and direction, and those moments taught me how to trust myself and build my brand with being calm even in uncertainty. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about never struggling, it’s about showing up again, staying resourceful, and finding meaning in the process. That mindset has shaped how I run m business, create, and approach every challenge, both with a steady heart and a problem-solving attitude.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of This Little Candle Co., a clean, non-toxic candle brand I started in 2019 with one simple intention; to turn everyday moments into meaningful rituals. What began as a small creative outlet at my kitchen table has evolved into a thoughtfully curated brand that blends scent, storytelling, and emotion. Each candle is hand-poured with 100% soy wax and crafted to evoke a feeling, whether it’s nostalgia, comfort, or a spark of confidence.
What excites me most is how a single scent can completely shift a mood or memory. There’s something powerful about lighting a candle that feels like a reflection of where you are or who you’re becoming. Every scent I design and personally name from the sensual warmth of Golden Haze (cinnamon, sandalwood, and orange blossom) to the cozy mischief of Wicked Woods or Spill the Pumpkin Tea tells its own little story. It’s art, mood, and self-expression all in one flame.
Beyond candles, we’re expanding into immersive experiences: private candle-making events, collaborations with local boutiques, and seasonal collections that bring people together. Our upcoming holiday launch is something I’m especially proud of: luxe packaging, gift-ready sets, and a few scents that are equal parts nostalgic and new.
At its core, This Little Candle Co. isn’t just about candles, it’s about connection. It’s about slowing down, curating your space with intention, and realizing that sometimes the smallest detail, like lighting a candle, can completely transform how you feel.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that shaped my journey most were resilience, creativity, and adaptability.
Resilience taught me how to keep going when things didn’t go as planned. There were moments early on when I questioned if I was doing enough or if the business would grow, but learning to stay grounded, trust the process, and pivot instead of panic made all the difference. For anyone just starting out, resilience isn’t something you’re born with, it’s something you build by showing up again and again, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Creativity has been my compass. From designing scent profiles to curating packaging and campaigns, creativity isn’t just about making things look beautiful, it’s about problem-solving with imagination. I always encourage new founders to play, experiment, and take creative risks. Some of my best ideas were born from trial and error.
And finally, adaptability because business is never a straight line. You have to be willing to evolve with your customers, your brand, and yourself. Trends shift, seasons change, and what worked one year may not the next. Staying flexible has allowed me to grow while keeping the brand authentic. I went from my kitchen to my basement, to getting divorced and moving into a flower shop to switching to a different shop. It’s all about just adapting then freaking out.
My biggest piece of advice? Start small, stay consistent, and let passion lead, even when progress feels slow. Every step counts and it’s often the quiet, behind-the-scenes seasons that build your foundation for success later. Life is a journey at the end of the day and you have to embrace it!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely!! Collaboration is such a beautiful part of what keeps This Little Candle Co. evolving. I love connecting with individuals and brands who share a deep appreciation for intentional design, sensory storytelling, and mindful luxury. Whether it’s curating signature scents for a business, like bakeries, retail stores, spas you name it to designing custom candle l for weddings and events, or collaborating with other creatives / influencers on seasonal collections I’m always drawn to projects that feel purposeful and artfully done.
My favorite partnerships are the ones where there’s genuine alignment, creativity and where both brands bring their essence together to create something timeless, soulful, and a little unexpected. Every collaboration is an opportunity to tell a new story through scent, mood, and atmosphere.
