Meet Zi Ngozi Okachi

We were lucky to catch up with Zi Ngozi Okachi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Zi Ngozi , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I struggled with self-doubt and feeling like the other for a very long time. It wasn’t until I took physical space from my friends and family that I could finally take an unbiased look at who I was and where my emotions of inadequacy stemmed from.

It was too challenging to differentiate between what thoughts, feelings & projections were mine when I was heavily submerged into the same environment I was raised in. I knew that on a basic level, if I removed the potential trauma centers I could gain a deep sense of clarity of who I was, enough to the point that I could more authentically show up as myself.

That physical space is what truly changed my life and helped me break free.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

In this phase of my life as an Activist, Artist & Healer, I am focused on helping the community liberate themselves from oppression so we can collectively create lasting political and social change for the better.

As an Ancestral healer, I help folx reconnect with their roots to spirituality in a way that aligns with them culturally and teach others to not appropriate but to sit in a deeper sense of learning and embodiment.

I have recently kicked off my book called The Empowered Femme initiation, where I tell my story as a black femme queer person healing their generational trauma while using my ancestral gifts to manifest large opportunities. Alongside this, I offer a Manifestation 90 Life transformational course that kicks off in a few weeks, have just finished competin in the reality TV show called The BLOX to bring visibility to civil rights and am about to debut my music to help fundraise for the Congo.

You can follow me on all major social media platforms @thefairymedicinewoman!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The 3 most important qualities that I consider to be life-changing on my journey, is honesty, openness and resourcefulness. No matter where you are at in life you need to be able to be transparent not just with yourself but with the world so we can build safer communities, you must be open to receiving feedback from anyone while also choosing to NOT implement feedback if it doesn’t align with your values. Lastly, I suggest to be resourceful and know you are never stuck. You have all that you need, it’s just a matter of allowing it to be revealed in your life to support you. Whether its spiritually or from your soul tribe.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

The biggest area of growth in my life has been stepping into the spotlight. When I was younger I was very bubbly and loved performing on all levels. As I grew older and took on more trauma, I started to hide my light away because it felt safer. Since doing my generational healing, I now comfortably can sit in the spotlight without feeling immense fear or self-judgement no matter the circumstances. Which, in the last 12 months have made the visibility of my business skyrocket in unthinkable ways.
