Meet Zoe Felix

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zoe Felix. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Zoe, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Resilience, for me, comes from embracing every single part of my journey—especially the tough moments. It’s about choosing to dance in the rain rather than waiting for the storm to pass. I’ve learned to see resilience as more than just bouncing back; it’s about using each experience, every setback, every so-called ‘failure,’ as a building block to become stronger and wiser.

Growing up in NYC, where the energy is vibrant but life can be tough, I had to learn early on that resilience isn’t something you’re born with—it’s something you cultivate. For me, it’s deeply rooted in my belief that every woman has a unique light within her, waiting to be unleashed. This light doesn’t dim because of dark days; instead, it shines even brighter.
I draw my resilience from my community of incredible women, from the everyday warriors who refuse to let society’s cookie-cutter molds define them. Each time I connect with you all—whether through a blog post,or just a simple IG message—I’m reminded of why I started Twiggy Versatile: to inspire and be inspired, to push past norms, and to lead with authenticity and drive.

So, when you ask where my resilience comes from, I’d say it comes from knowing that life is not about being perfect; it’s about being versatile. It’s about adapting, growing, and finding joy in the most unexpected places. And just like I encourage you all to embrace your unique ways, I embrace mine every day. Because in every trial and triumph, I’m not just surviving—I’m thriving, and I want you to do the same.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hey beautiful people! I’m Twiggy Versatile, and my journey is all about breaking boundaries and challenging the norms. My story is one of resilience, expression, and living life boldly. I started Twiggy Versatile to create a space where women of all colors, shapes, and walks of life could come together, share their stories, and inspire one another. Whether through my blog, fashion styling, or community events, I aim to empower women to find their unique voice and to celebrate every shade of who they are.

Professionally, I wear many hats, just like many of you! From styling versatile outfits to sharing my love of dance while also bringing creators together. My work is a blend of creativity, community-building, and empowerment. I’m doing all this, but still working a 9-5. What’s most exciting about it all is the chance to see women discover their inner strength and express themselves in ways they never thought possible. Each day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and shine brighter together.

I’m super passionate about supporting women who are finding their way, just like I continue to do, because let’s face it, we learn something new about ourselves every day. I believe that everyone has a story to tell, and those stories can change the world. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce something new and close to my heart: I’m looking forward to paying it forward by helping small businesses and creators share their stories in authentic ways on social media more. I’ll be setting up consultations and helping people really break down their social media pages so they can reach their desired audiences while be authentic and true to their brands.

And there’s more! I’ve recently partnered with another fabulous content creator to launch **Creative Girls on the Web**. This initiative is all about focusing on the growth of BIPOC content creators through exciting content days, engaging workshops, and many more fun and empowering activities. We’re here to build a community where creativity knows no bounds and where every voice is heard and celebrated.

Stay tuned for more updates because this is just the beginning. Together, we’re going to create, inspire, and elevate each other to new heights!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Reflecting on my journey, I’d say three qualities have been incredibly impactful: walking in love, maintaining a strong sense of character, and embracing versatility. Each of these has shaped who I am and guided me through both the highs and the lows.

1. Walking in Love and Spreading Kindness:

This is a value that my mother instilled in me from a young age. She always taught me that no matter where life takes you, walking in love and spreading kindness can light up even the darkest paths. It’s about seeing the best in people, lifting them up, and making sure that your actions leave a positive mark on the world. Even though my mom is no longer here, her lessons are a constant reminder of the power of love and kindness. They are like a compass guiding me through life’s challenges.

I want to say this: start by being kind to yourself. Embrace your imperfections and see them as strengths. When you can love yourself fully, it becomes easier to walk in love with others. Practice small acts of kindness daily; they don’t have to be grand gestures. Sometimes, a smile or a kind word can change someone’s day, including your own.

2. Building a Strong Character

I’ll never forget my 8th-grade Journey to Careers teacher, Mr. Peters. He used to say, “Your skills will get you a job, but your character will keep you there.” At the time, I didn’t fully understand what he meant, but as I’ve navigated my path, his words have rung true time and time again. Good character is about integrity, honesty, and treating people with respect, no matter the circumstances. It’s what helps you build lasting relationships and opens doors to unexpected opportunities.

Focus on building your character. Show up as your true self, be dependable, and lead with honesty. This is what will set you apart and carry you forward when times get tough. Remember, reputation can be fleeting, but character is forever.

3. Embracing Versatility:

Life is unpredictable, and being versatile has been one of my greatest assets. Versatility is all about being open to change and willing to adapt. It’s about understanding that every experience, whether good or bad, is an opportunity to grow. It’s also at the heart of my brand, Twiggy Versatile, because I believe we should all be ready to pivot and find joy in the unexpected.

My advice here is to stay curious and never stop learning. Try new things, take risks, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Life is not a straight path; it’s a colorful journey filled with twists and turns. The more versatile you are, the better you’ll be at navigating it all with grace and style.

In closing, remember this: walking in love, building a strong character, and embracing versatility are not just qualities—they are choices you make every day. Choose wisely, and you’ll find that your journey becomes not only impactful but also filled with purpose and joy.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

Like any 20-something-year-old, I’m navigating life’s constant changes and challenges. Right now, one of the biggest hurdles I face is managing anxiety and depression. I’m a naturally happy person—I love to laugh, spread joy, and uplift others. But just like anyone else, I have my struggles. There are days when it feels like the weight of the world is on my shoulders, and it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Living in this digital age, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The pressure to be “on” all the time, to have it all figured out, can sometimes lead to anxiety and feelings of not being enough. That’s something I deal with regularly, and I know I’m not alone in this.

One way I manage these feelings is by taking breaks from social media. As much as I love connecting with my community online, I’ve learned that stepping back and spending time alone is crucial for my mental health. It allows me to recharge and reconnect with myself without the noise and distractions of the digital world. I focus on self-care—whether it’s journaling, meditating, going for a walk, or simply allowing myself to feel my emotions without judgment.

I want to be transparent about this because I know so many of us are going through similar battles. It’s okay to not be okay all the time. It’s okay to take a step back and put yourself first. Remember that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. And taking time for yourself is a strength, not a weakness.

I hope by sharing this, it reminds you that you’re not alone, and there’s power in vulnerability. Together, we can support each other through every challenge life throws our way.
