Meet Zoe Liu

We were lucky to catch up with Zoe Liu recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Zoe, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I will spend more time doing what I love and what I am good at, rather than focusing on the feeling of success. Stay strong inside and don’t be afraid of outside judgment.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an illustrator and designer, and in my spare time I also do tattoos for people. Illustration is like meditation for me, it helps me to find inner peace, and in the process of illustration I focus on the expression of the story and the emotions conveyed by the colors.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Curiosity, storytelling skills and the ability to see the world like a child. I think the most important thing is to find out what you are good at and what you love instead of blindly copying other people’s success paths, because everyone is unique.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I want to draw a picture book that teaches philosophy to children, so if there is a publisher who wants to publish a picture book with related content, please contact me.
