We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Zoë Snow. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Zoë below.
Hi Zoë, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I didn’t grow up thinking of myself as a risk-taker, but life kept placing me in situations where staying comfortable cost more than taking a leap. My ability to take risks came from a series of moments where I had to choose between the life I knew and the life I felt called to build.
I spent over a decade working in the corporate and family office world, doing everything “right” on paper. But something in me always knew I was meant to create something of my own; something hands-on, personal, and rooted in service. When I started helping friends and family organize their homes, it lit up a part of me that had been quiet for years. It was supposed to be a side passion, not a business, but the fulfillment I felt was undeniable.
The turning point, and the risk that shaped all the others, was choosing to leave stability behind and launch Sorted by Snow full time. I had no safety net or roadmap, just a deep belief that creating order for people could truly change their lives. That decision taught me that fear and intuition can coexist, and that intuition is worth following even when the path feels uncertain.
Since then, choosing the uncomfortable path has become a pattern that continues to expand my life. Growing a bi-coastal business, moving from New Jersey to San Diego, hiring a team, expanding into virtual assistant services, saying yes to visibility opportunities that once intimidated me, and trusting myself long before there was proof; each step strengthened my confidence.
Today, my ability to take risks comes from knowing I can handle whatever is on the other side. I trust myself now. I trust my vision. And every time I choose growth over comfort, my life becomes bigger, clearer, and more aligned with who I truly am.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Sorted by Snow, a home organizing and virtual assistant company that helps busy families and professionals create calmer homes, clearer systems, and more mental space in their day-to-day lives. What started as me organizing for friends on weekends has grown into a bi-coastal business with an incredible team of organizers in the NJ/NYC area and a growing presence in San Diego.
My work is all about transformation, not just the physical transformation of a closet or pantry, but the emotional shift that happens when someone finally feels supported, capable, and at ease in their own home. I love the moment when a client takes a deep breath and says, “I didn’t know my home could feel like this.” That’s the magic of what we do.
What’s most exciting about Sorted by Snow is that we’re not just organizers; we’re partners in helping people reclaim their time, energy, and sense of peace. Life is stressful, especially for working parents and high-achieving professionals, so we meet people where they are and help them build systems that actually support the way they live.
This year, we expanded beyond home organizing into Virtual Assistant Support, offering executive-level help with inbox management, scheduling, digital organization, household management, and small-business operations. Many of our clients wanted their physical space transformed but also needed help behind the scenes; so now we support both the home and the headspace.
What I’m most proud of is that Sorted by Snow has become a trusted, heart-centered brand built through word of mouth, genuine connection, and a commitment to delivering an elevated, personal experience. We don’t just organize homes, we give people room to breathe, think, grow, and feel proud of the space they live in.
And we’re just getting started.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my journey the most were intuition, resilience, and the ability to create systems. Each one played a different role in helping me build a business from the ground up, move through uncertainty, and continue growing in ways that feel aligned with who I am.
Intuition has guided nearly every major decision in my business. It helped me leave a stable corporate career to start Sorted by Snow, expand into new markets, and eventually build a team. For most of my life, I overthought everything, but entrepreneurship forced me to listen to that quiet internal nudge that often knows before logic does. My advice for anyone starting out is to slow down enough to hear your own instincts. Let your decisions be informed by both data and what feels expansive and true to you. The more you practice this, the stronger it becomes.
Resilience has been equally important. Growing a business stretches you in ways you can’t fully prepare for. There are moments of doubt, unexpected challenges and seasons that require patience and courage. What kept me moving forward was staying grounded in why I started in the first place. My suggestion for others is to stay connected to your purpose and surround yourself with people who remind you of your strengths on the days you forget them.
Finally, systems thinking has been one of my superpowers and the backbone of Sorted by Snow. I’ve always had a natural ability to see structure where others see chaos, whether it’s organizing a home, building client processes or streamlining daily routines for families. Systems create freedom and clarity. For those just beginning, start by looking for patterns. Notice what works, what doesn’t and where things can be simplified. Systems are not about rigidity but about creating flow and ease.
These three qualities have shaped not just my business but who I’ve become throughout the journey. You don’t need to have everything figured out at the start. Begin with what you have, trust yourself and build thoughtfully one step at a time.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m especially interested in collaborating with realtors, interior designers, moving and relocation specialists, wellness professionals, and local businesses who serve busy individuals and families. I also love working with content creators and brands that value organization, simplicity, and intentional living, whether that’s through co-created content, events, client referrals, or community initiatives.
If someone is interested in collaborating, they can reach out through our website or connect with me on Instagram. I’m always excited to explore partnerships that feel natural, mutually beneficial, and genuinely helpful for our clients.
