Meet Zulekha “Zee” Pitts

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Zulekha “Zee” Pitts. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Zulekha “Zee”, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I didn’t stumble on my purpose. It revealed itself in layers. For me, it started in the performing arts. That was my first love, my first stage, my first taste of what it meant to move people with a performance. Later, journalism became part of my scholarly career. It sharpened my storytelling, gave me the discipline to dig deeper, and taught me how to hold up a mirror to the world.

What I learned is that my voice doesn’t belong in just one lane. It can live in many places—on stage, on screen, in fashion, and even in the digital tools people use to build their careers. That’s why my empire doesn’t fit neatly in one box. I’m building a statement apparel line where people can literally wear my words. I’m my own business as an actor and host, but I’m also laying the groundwork for a digital casting platform so other multi-talented creatives can cut through the noise and land opportunities, too.

My purpose is in the intersection—where creativity, communication, and entrepreneurship meet. It’s not about chasing one title; it’s about creating systems, products, and platforms that reflect who I am and open doors for others. I didn’t “find” it in a single aha moment. I built it piece by piece, like bricks in a foundation. Now, I see it clearly: my purpose is to use my gifts to create, connect, and empower—and to build an empire that does all three.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I wear many hats, but the thread connecting them all is communication. I’m a performer, storyteller, and entrepreneur who treats creativity like a business. On one side, I’m a working actor, host, and occasional lifestyle model. I know how to land gigs, and now I’m developing a digital casting platform to make it easier for other multi-talents to do the same.

Beyond the stage and camera, I’m building ventures that merge my skills in writing, media, and strategy. I recently earned my master’s in Communication with a focus on research and strategy, and I’ve been representing brands on social media — creating content that resonates and drives engagement. I’m also launching a statement apparel line that brings my words to life through fashion — wearable reminders meant to inspire, spark conversation, and connect with people on a personal level.

What excites me most is that everything I do feeds into the other. My artistry fuels my entrepreneurship, my strategic background grounds my ideas, and my brand work keeps me in tune with what people actually want. Right now, I’m focused on growing three areas: my career as a performer, my upcoming apparel line, and the early stages of the digital casting platform. Together, they form the foundation of the empire I’m building — one that proves you don’t have to choose just one lane when your purpose is bigger.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

When I think about my entrepreneurial ambition, three things stand out as game-changers in my journey: adaptability, communication, and strategy.

Adaptability has kept me moving. In the performing arts, journalism, and business, things rarely go as planned. Auditions shift, stories change, algorithms flip. I learned early that you can either get stuck or pivot with purpose. My advice: get comfortable with change. Don’t wait for the “perfect” conditions — start, adjust, and keep building.

Communication has always been my anchor. Whether I’m pitching myself for a role, writing an article, representing a brand, or creating apparel with words on it, everything comes down to how well I can connect with people. It’s not just about talking — it’s about listening, observing, and knowing what truly resonates. If you’re early in your journey, practice communicating across different platforms. Write. Speak. Share. The more ways you know how to tell your story, the more doors will open.

Strategy is what ties it all together. Earning my master’s in Communication, with a focus on research and strategy, sharpened my ability to not only dream but to plan. Ideas are beautiful, but execution makes them real. My advice: study your craft and the industry you’re in. Learn to analyze what works, what doesn’t, and why. Then build systems around your vision so your talent isn’t wasted.

My entrepreneurial ambition thrives because I treat creativity like a business. It’s about being flexible enough to adapt, skilled enough to communicate, and disciplined enough to strategize. For anyone starting — focus on building those three muscles, and you’ll be ready for whatever comes next.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Absolutely. My entrepreneurial ambition isn’t something I’m building in isolation — collaboration is at the core of it. I’m especially interested in connecting with brands and creatives who value authenticity, storytelling, and strategy. That could look like partnering with fashion and lifestyle brands for content collaborations, teaming up with entrepreneurs in the digital space to strengthen my casting platform, or working with other multi-talents who want to create opportunities together rather than wait for them.

I’m also excited to connect with mentors, investors, and visionaries who understand what it means to scale ideas into sustainable ventures. Whether it’s my statement apparel line, my social media brand partnerships, or the tech side of my casting platform, I’m building with longevity in mind.

If you’re reading this and what I’m saying resonates with you, I’d love to connect. You can email me at [email protected]. Collaboration is how empires are built, and I’m always open to building something impactful together.
